Can I share a pic?
I'm not in the slightest talented, but I really fancied having a go at the rainbow cake for her birthday. She also loves Snow white and the 7 dwarves, so thought i'd try and combine the two.

Well done!! I want to try and make a rainbow cake - do you just bake a seperate layer with the colouring? looks fab!

Sshh, it did taste lovely. It was just so hard to ice though as each layer wasn't spot on the same size.
Ninabeanie, I've only got two 7inch cake tins, so I just did 2 at a time, and baked each one with a bit of different food colouring. For each layer I did 50g self raising, 50g caster sugar, 1 egg, teeny bit of vanilla flavouring, 50g butter and a splash of milk, then added the tiny bit of colouring to each layer. If I was to do it again i'd get some foil throw away cake tins and use them. In between each layer I put some butter cream, and a bit of strawberry jam. You only needed a thin slice as it was so tall, but it was delicious.
