It's not for a while yet but due to to time of year we are moving I'm concerned that I won't get C in to a pre-school when we move to the new area. Are pre-schools the same as schools where you can't apply for a place until you live in the area? C already goes to preschool so to not get in to one when we move would be awful as he loves it so much. Do they have to give you a space if you have moved in to the area as they do with schools ( possibly not your first choice I know) or is it pot luck if there is a free space. He will be 3 July so eligible for the 15 free hours in Sept. We are due to move July at the latest so most preschools won't be open to view. Ido t really know how to approach it.

Give a few local ones donw there a ring and ask them. They might say when you are down come visit us and we can add his name to the list or they might say, no problem joining in the new term.

My friend just moved from Kent to London and had no problem finding a place for her nearly 4 year old. As Belle says, ring round a find out. You might find that there are some that are really booked up and have a waiting a list and others that aren't. Pre schools are all different - they'll each have their own rules about how and when they take children.

Deffo ring some. When we moved down here, we visited the pre-school signed up and she was able to start when we moved.
