Time to dig the slow cooker out. I don't know why I haven't sooner to save time but totally forgot about it. Apart from casseroles what is good to do in them? And what ingredients do I need? I'm hoping it'll save us some money and be a bit healthier too.

    TIA

You can stick whole joints of meat in them as well. I've done beef and gammon in mine. I bought a cheap joint of beef from the reduced aisle and stuck it in with some stock, onions, a mini bottle of red wine and a cinnamon stick. Left it cooking all day and all the meat just fell apart when I served it up. Was delicious.

bbq pulled pork - joint of pork shoulder, a little bit of stock, a few squirts of bbq sauce (i used  the HP honey bbq one) cook on low for 6-8 hours. then remove pork and using 2 forks shred it (the meat just falls apart), remove the juices from the sow cooker and give it a clean/wipe then bung the shredded por back in with some more of the bbq sauce and cook on high for a further hour. serve in buns with salad and coleslaw - yuuuum

Like pip says, i do whole joints of meat in mine.  It means i can buy the cheap stuff and it cooks lovely.  Another one i do is sausage and lentil stew.  It's basically sausages, lentils, a tin of chopped tomatos, some vegetable stock (my H is veggie otherwise i'd perhaps use a meat stock) seasoning, a bit of chilli powder.  Cook it for about 5/6 hours and serve with crusty bread.  I think it's yummy.
