ive tried salt dough twice this week and when i baked it they have risen slightly which was fine for tree decs but we did handprints today and they look likecshe hasthree fingers
what am i doing wrong? using 2 cups plain flour, 1 cup salt, 1 cup water. adding more plain flour till its not sticky then baking at approx 120 degrees in a fan oven.

I haven't got round to trying it yet but was going to use the recipe on the page above. . Someone here posted the page, great ideas on it. Could your oven be too hot?

Could be that, thanks Debby. Shall try again tomorrow if possible without my mum noticing (she's here now for Christmas and it was supposed to be for her from M!) Thanks again :)

I use one cup flour one salt and half water. Seems to work ok for xmas decs. Haven't tried handprints in it.

Put greaseproof paper over the top, then cover in rice :)

just do it on a low setting and for a minute at a time - it can quite quickly burn if you're not paying attention!
