I'm thinking of getting one of these, especially as we haven't got a fire/chimney. But, where would you leave the key? Isn't the point that FC uses it to enter the house? So not much good to leave with his food/drink treat as the description says?

We have this which we got when they were on sale. We also got a block with another key which i will use to hang it outside (key is being donated to nephew :-) ) folksy.com/.../4445233-Personalised-Wrought-Iron-Santa-Key

I was going to leave it outside with the reindeer dust. Love that one too CK

We've got one, I've had it since E was little, we hang it on the door.

I got one from the card factory too although wasn't really sure where to put it. Putting it somewhere when we do the reindeer dust is a good idea though.

I have one, bought YEARS ago, it is hung by our house keys. C never questioned how Santa got the key. I'd have said "by magic", had he questioned it. It would have got stolen if I had left it outside our old house.
I have made some for my fayre, just cheapo ones, that the little kids seem to love, to be hung outside their bedroom.
The one on that link is gorgeous though.

Got any links?

This is what I have made for J, to put outside his room, as it isn't really weatherproof.
I was planning on making metal ones, but my friend asked for an acrylic one for her son, so thought I might aswell make some for the fayre. Much prefer the metal ones tbh.
I'm hoping I still have the lovely metal one I got when C was little.
Kellfi, have you looked in card shops?? You can get some gorgeous ones, for a couple of quid.
