T has had his school shoes which are Velcro kickers, since sept. The shoes are at the point now where he can't really wear them anymore, the leather started to scuff off at the front but now the sole has come away and if it was wet out his feet would get wet! I can't beleive £40 shoes do this!
so what I'm asking is, How are your children's school shoes holding up? What brand/shop are they from Please? I need to go and buy some more but don't want to spend £40 every term? (Unless this's normal?)

C has Clarks these ones www.clarks.co.uk/.../20354805 and they still look fine with no scuffing - considering the wear they get in the park on the way home from school some days, I'm quite surprised really! I wouldn't be expecting to pay £40 each term, let alone each half term!

Blimey Lauren I'd be well annoyed at that. Can you take them back? Scuffing I'd accept as one of those things but the sole coming apart I wouldn't be happy with.

I would definitely take them back - they shouldn't be falling apart already. Joshua has these from Clarks and they are still in excellent condition after half a term:
Thankfully his feet seem to grow pretty slowly so last year he had two pairs, one in September and one at Easter.

I get start rite or clarks with a rubber trim around the toe for this very reason. they aren't the most trendy but I've seen little boys scuff the front of the shoe just with every day wear. I think it's to do with the school carpets, they are very hard wearing plastic fibres and every time the children sit on the carpet and cross their legs, then un cross them to stand up they scuff the shoe.
these are Luke's a bit babyish but he needs the support of boot for his ankles. his school also allow brown shoes and we have them in brown.

It's bad isn't it!? I might try my luck with sending them back actually, I'm really peeved! I might have to try a Clark's shoe.. I'm cooking dinner at the minute but il have a look at the links in a bit, thanks ladies glad I'm not alone thinking this isn't right x

Zoe has Clarks patent leather (patent always lasts better here, but obviously not an option for a boy) which still look brand new. She only has one pair of shoes so they get worn all the time.
