Saw this in baby and cried (bl**dy hormones lol) but thought id share
I hope that my child, looking back on today
Remembers a mother who had time to play
A child will grow up when you're not looking
There's years ahead for the cleaning and cooking,
So quiet down cobwebs: dust go to sleep
I'm rocking my baby, and babies don't keep.
and
Mother, oh Mother,
come shake out your cloth,
empty the dustpan,
poison the moth,
hang out the washing
and butter the bread,
sew on a button and make up a bed.
Where is the mother whose house
is so shocking?
She's up in the nursery,
blissfully rocking.
Oh, I've grown shiftless as Little
Boy Blue (lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
Dishes are waiting and bills are past due
(pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo).
The shopping's not done
and there's nothing for stew
and out in the yard there's a hullabaloo
but I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo.
Look! Aren't her eyes the most wonderful hue?
(lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo).
The cleaning and scrubbing
will wait till tomorrow,
for Children grow up,
as I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down, cobwebs.
Dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep......
Im gonna put the first one on my hall wall
xxDBxx
I read this in baby too, it's just beautiful is'nt it hun x x x x
Now I'm crying db, damn hormones (I havent even got that excuse at the moment  )
Anyway here is another to make you cry, I read this at Isaacs naming day and was sobbing as I read it,
It's 3am and they're asleep
And no-ones here to see
As we rock slowly back and forth
My baby boy and me
His little head is feather light
Tucked underneath my chin
I hold his tiny little hand
And stoke his baby chin
The house about us creaks and moans
The clock hands creep around
He snuggles closer to me still
And makes his baby sounds
I love these quiet hours so much
And cherish everyone
Store memories up inside my heart
For lonely nights to come
All too soon he'll be grown up
His need for Mummy gone
But untill then I have the time
For kisses and a song
Time for quiet hours like this
With him snuggled in my arms
Where I wish that he would always stay
Protected safe from harm
And yet I know the day will come
Where his tiny little hand
Will be much bigger than my own
He'll grow to be a man
But until then he's mine to love
With no-one here to see
As we rock slowly back and forth
My baby boy and me
Now I'm sobbing again, it the bit where is says he'll grow to be a man, gets me every time xx
Yep you made me cry again  honestly im not gonna have any tears left the way im going today x
