I had a bit of a throat infection last week, with a temperature etc, but after 2-3 days it looked like it had gone from what I could see, although I've had such a sore throat since that I'm not convinced - it feels like I've got a razor blade stuck there nearly every time I talk or swallow and has been like it now for about 5 days.
So should I get it checked out at the GPs, or leave it a bit longer to see if it will go on it's own? I've managed to book an appointment online for tomorrow just in case, but I don't want to go if I'm going to get laughed out of there.

I am trying to remember what the GP told em about infections and I'm sure they said soemthing like if it had gone on for more than 5 days than you should go to the GP.

Thanks both - I guess I'll see how it is the morning and if no better then I'll keep the appointment and go.
QI - it started last Wednesday so it's been over the 5 days now, although I'm just worried it's not actually infected but just sore, although the pain feels more than just a sore throat. I'm getting really fed up with it because I can't sing apart from anything else!
