Just give her as much attention as you possibly can. When she comes to visit you in hospital try not to be holding baby if at all possible so she sees you first. We also bought our elder two a present off the baby which we had wrapped and took with us to hospital so it was oh look what the baby has bought for you.
We've been quite lucky have had a couple of moments with our two year old but nothing like what I was imagining because he was such a mummy's boy.
Good luck hope you dont have too much longer to wait.

I agree with Clair, there is 17mths between my two,and eldest is a mummys boy,so when he visited in hospital I made sure I wasn't holding the baby so I could give him lots of cuddles.
It was in my opinion very hard the first 2 weeks but with hindsight-that was because big fella was on paternity leave!!!!!!!! All went smoothly when he went back to work!!!!!!
Good luck, hope all goes well for you x

I've had very little jealousy with any of my children. The worse one was when Arthur was born,Erin was 2 and 3 months. My Mum thought it would be a good idea for the three older children to go to stay at their house, and since she was providing childcare Ididn't argue. On the day we brought Arthur home,my parents visited with the children to our house.Erin just burst into tears and went and cried on her bed and wouldn't speak to anyone. In the end my parents took the children back to theirs again.Definately the wrong way to handle it,but Erin did come round once she was home.
With the others we didn't let the children visit in hospital. We've had a couple of crying for no reason other than they don't know what's going on,but that's cos they were just babies themselves andcouldn't understand.By three you can talk about the baby, you can tell them what to expect and their needs are very different from a baby. She doesn't need to share her toys. You can feed a baby and read a story at the same time,or watch cbeebies together.Your daughter can be included in everything.
Good luck with your baby.Hope it all goes well

i had jack visit in hospital he didnt get it, he was more interested in my tv and sweets!
If you plan to breastfeed i had a little tin lunch box that had a few little toys and books and a snack id add after each long feed, and he got excited when lola wanted a feed as hed get his special box, he was only 16mnths and was and still is a cuddly boy so having madam on my lap was something i expected to cause issues, i just let him in, i managed to bf lola once while she layed on his lap, wasnt to easy but he was happy, and I learnt very quickly that a newborn can wait when its crying whereas a toddler will get offended and is usually quicker to deal with!
Weve had no rivalry just, NOOOO OLA, when she crawls over to his toys now, little madam just sits down tips her head back and laughs, she doesnt care, and he thinks shes funny!
Oh and biggest mistake a friend made was be quiet the babys sleeping eating tired etc etc, say lets be quieter and watch cebeebies or can we play puzzles or read a book, distract and try not to use the baby in anything that seems negative,
My sister was 3 when lola arrived and she adored her sat for hours holding her or bouncing her chair etc, 3 is a nice helpful and understanding age, shell love being the grown up sister!
Best of luck x x x

Oh I've had some fun this morning-fight fight fight!!!! Got lads ready for toddlers,Jc happened to be wearing an old rugby shirt of Tom's,all Tom did was touch the shirt and comment he wore it when he was little,he was promptly headbutted for touching Joseff-then kicked, after which Jc threw himself on the floor and wailed!!!!?????
Big shouts from mummabear, only for Tom to get his revenge by pushing him over-Jc fell face first onto a toy-which didn't spark any tears-he got up and bit Tom
They were seperated and told to calm down........All kicked off again in Playgroup, with Tom trying to get his friends to join in,lil sod. All friends now-after mummabear did her usual....RIGHT!,hands on hips stern face,etc........The joys of having boys eh???!!!!!!
