So, I'm thinking about joining for the new year. My local one is doing free membership (save £10) and then 12 meetings for the price of 10, so I would be £49.50 for membership and three months of classes.
I'm really hoping to get a better grasp of foods which I can eat loads of, recipes to adapt and use in the future, and a bit of a kick start on the road to healthy eating. My main two concerns are;
I'm a size 10 (verging on 12), will they dismiss me as not 'needing' help?
I could fall pregnant at any point, would I need to stop SW?
So, all in all, should I join?

I did SW upto 28 weeka pregnant so no need to stop if you do get lucky . I'm getting back into it in the new year -but refuse to pay out as I aleeady have the books. Its a really easy plan to follow once you get into it.

Knowing your dress size won't be helpful, I can be a size 10 and still be overweight by my BMI, but when my mum is a size 10 she's perfect. Now they may have changed the rules from when I did SW but at the time it was that you could only join if you wanted to lose 7lbs or more, and losing 7lbs should keep you within a healthy range (i.e. if you were 6 foot tall and weighed 7 stone you couldn't join just by saying you wanted to lose 7lbs, because you'd be underweight at 6.5 stone kind of thing). AFAIK if you fall pregnant they will adapt the rules for you and you can discuss with your consultant and doctor what you want to do... at your size perhaps either maintain or have a 'ceiling' of weight to put on. There was an obese lady there when I was going who was pregnant and lost weight nearly every week, but she was very obese to begin with.
For the £50 I'd join and see if you like it TBH. After that you'll have the books and an idea of how the plans work, should you either fall pregnant or decide not to go back.
