    PM

Met a new childminder today, really liked her and she only looks after one other little boy on the day we want so it would be ideal for Oscar.

When H got home he opened a letter from the hospital with a date for the next part of his operation.. for next Wed.  We don't want Oscar to go back to his current CM as he has missed the past 2 weeks with her already so it would be confusing to go back and then finish with her. But this means I need to squeeze in Oscars settling in sessions asap so he can start with the new childminder as soon as poss as H won't be able to look after him whilst I'm at work.

Then I had to text my boss asking for time off next week, very inconvenient and short notice as I'm a nanny so there is no one to cover me!  I have no holiday left to take so will have to make it up at some point.

I'm waiting to hear back from current childminder re notice period, new childminder re settling in sessions and my boss on if ok to make the time up.

    I'm stressed!

    PM

I've had a lovely text from my boss, saying "don't worry, make the time up when things are easier " which is really nice,  I've had a message from the new CM being very flexible and giving us settling in sessions for Mon and Tues, I'm now waiting from the current childminder to reply to my 'sorry but we've decided....' email. She's never taken this long to reply, she's keeping me hanging I think, grrrr!

All the positive and important things are going well with your boss and new CM. Op is happening quickly but good that this next step will be complete soon. Sorry for not knowing the protocol but what do you need the old CM to say - is it just because you want to end things well?

I was worrying we needed to give her notice but I couldn't afford to pay her notice period as well as paying our new childminder. I also wanted to end things well because I do like her!

Just had a email from current childminder. she said she was going to speak to us anyway about O being unsettled and not to worry re notice period. She also invited us to her Los birthday party. I'm so glad it ended ok!  Now I have everything crossed that Oscar will settle well with his new childminder.

I would have asked my neighbour to have E , he is good friends with their girls.  My sister and her boyfriend are now taking the day off on that day! They're going to take the boys out for the day. O doesn't  get to see my sister much but I'm sure will be fine as E will be there too.  They both like her boyfriend a lot so I'm sure they'll have a lovely time!

    Phew! Whats next??!

Wow, you've certainly managed to sort that out in double quick time.

How lovely of your current child minder not to hold you to the notice period.

Hope your H makes a quick recovery after his operation.
