I am being completly unreasonable raging at an story on the news
I know IABU but it is still winding me up (probably because I am sick of people treating me like I'm stupid but that's another post)
It is the story about colourings in baby medication think calpol etc
it was making me rage earlier and I am raging even more having seem the channel coverage
but honestly it looks like they were pretended to give baby does of calpol for the camera
and anyway what do parent thinks make these drugs pink if it isn't colourings and why would you sell a colour free version is you weren't adding colour argghhhhhh

It sounds like one of my rants Glad it isn't jsut me that has them - although I've avoided posting them of late in case no-one understood. I bloomin HATE the media and the food colouring thing

SW glad it wasn't just me thinking it.
QI post away I have loads of them daily but assume you would all think I was bonkers if I posted them all.
Maybe its just me am i theonly one that reads the ingredients list on the medicine packets

What are you ranting about?? Infredients in medicine? I just buy and administer....

She is ranting about people not knowing that there are added colours in children's medicine and it being 'news-worthy'.
22/10/2013 at 21:07
In the news today they were covering a story that calpol and other medicines for children contain colouring additives some of the E numbers they used are actually banned in baby food, and have been identified as potentially causing hyperactivity in children (although how accurate that is I don't know as I haven't done the reading). They had parents commenting saying that they were surprised about colourings being in the medicine etc but it's bright pink medicine and you can buy colour free and so on so I wonder why people are so surprised that the medicine contains colourings. The way it was covered on channel 5 news is what really wound me up as they focused more on people not knowing that it containined any colouring than on the real story which is how the colouring can be banned in baby food and not baby medicine.

QI you put it much better than me, it's bright pink why are people surprised it has colours in?
I have calme down a bit now instead I am ranting at H about people treating me like I'm stupid because I have a child!
22/10/2013 at 21:25
Drifter - it gets worse, once your child goes to school they then treat you like you are stupid as well. 'Yes but mummy my teacher said sugar is bad for you and fruit is good for you' when you mention that fruit contains sugar...

Right I see. They are idiots.
