hey all, Iv been thinking of going to the doctors because of feeling so down though i think most of me feeling depressed is that i find it so diffcult to make new friends. Iv gone to the baby groups before though there all chatting about baby things though i get abit bored of that and i get tired just concenstly talking not because the convo being boring though my concentrion just cant hack it so i get tired. none of the ladys want to chat to me and i dont think i have anything in common with them, i do try though i loose of what to say. I never had that many friends, it does get me down.
anyone that smokes thats another thing cos some mates go out to smoke so i think there talking about me, and plus i dont like to be in an inclosed room with them after they smoked cos it seems to affect me for a few days afterwards.
does anyone else find this happens to them?

i was really down for quite a while and felt really really lonely, im majorly against smoking especially parents doing it and i do find it hard then to get along with them as i have such a strong opinion and the smell makes me feel awfull.
I tried baby groups didnt get along with them at all, i recently joined www.netmums.com found my local group and theres a meet a mum board where you can message people near you and they contact you ive met a lovely mum, and im meeting two more in a week, they run large group meets aswell, they may be one running in your area, its more aimed at people who are shy cant get on in the regular groups or pay for nct etc, There wasnt a meetup group for my area so i signed up to be a chair mum and ive had 23 mums reply in less than a week that were lonely and felt exactly like me, were meeting on tuesday and im hoping in the large group where no one knows anyone ill find some good friends.
best of luck xxx

my partners the same, he cant see how i can be lonely with two children and house work to keep me busy, he just told me not to be silly and to go to toddlers etc, which i tried and just didnt enjoy, if your feeling low id go to the doctors and just see what he sayes, its better to be safe than feel bad. I still hve some bad days, and maybe i should go see my gp but im hoping and do thnk when i have some friends i feel better, its a had time being a mum, never knowing if your doing everything right and never knowing what the next day will bring or how much sleep well get,
take care xxx

I think a lot of us feel that way from time to time.I personally hate toddler groups,I hate being in a situation where I'm forced to chat to people I don't know.I did try toddlers but I hated it,and my son hated it too,so we didn't bother after the first couple of times.
There's other ways to meet people if that's what you want to do,like Laura says above(I've just bookmarked that one for a sneaky peek myself).Come on this site, there's always someone to chat to,and it doesn't have to be about babies, and you can be sure we won't smoke over you.Another smoke hater here. Can't stand the smell
If you're feeling really down have a word with your gp or your hv.

Hi Charlie, try net mums as Laura suggested,I've had a sneaky peek looks good.
This site is great, always a topic to join in with. I do go to toddler groups because I'm in an area where none of my mates are, hated it at first, didn't want to chat to anyone, but made a bit of effort and have made 3 good mates. Don't get on with everyone but that's life I guess!
Can be hard going to strike up a conversation tho.I understand that,I lost a lot of confidence after I had the boys. My friend has had a lot of down days lately, she saw gp last week, and has got 1 month anti-depressants,to have a review appt in 4weeks with a view to only taking them short term. She said she feels much better just getting it off her chest with someone other than her hubby.
Think I'm gonna be lynched by Jo and Laura-I'm a secret smoker. I DO NOT smoke round kids, only ever do it outside-hardly anyone knows about my filthy habit. Told all now. Oh and it is a big paranoia when they go out fora cig-I don't the groups only on an hour or 2-surely they can't be that desperate?

Nah,you're okay Rachel,we can't smell the fags down the PC lol!!!!!
Not a crime to smoke,DH smokes in the garden. There's a time and a place for everything.Toddler group's not one of them.

your fine until a bit of smoke puffs through the cd drawer lol!
my best friends are smokers, they obey my rules so it doesnt bother me, ive only got so anti as theres so many people round town smoking with a baby on there knee or holding them down at toddler height! grr,
there was a lady oposite me in hosp with jack whod go downstairs every 1-2hrs for a fag leaving her newborn alone!

could you have PND? I got it after Moss was born but did nothing till after Skye was born, I was recovering fairly well until I fell preg again and now struggling to make friends agains.
Smoking around kids annoys me too, I gave up when preg with Moss and hate seeing people pushing buggies with a fag in their hand

Oh thank god I've not been sent to conventry!!!!!!! Nah you'll never smell the cigs from pc,haven't smoked in house since I was 18!!!!!!! Big fella would flip if I sparked up in his presence.
Charlie,my mate who saw gp,her LO is nearly 8 mths mate,so it is possible to have PND.Hope you go and chat with doc,you might feel better even chatting,my mate did. Rang her tonight,no word of a lie,she feels 10times better already! Doubts it's the tablets, she just thinks now it's out in the open a weight has been lifted.
My pet ciggie hate is the smell in your hair-URGH-and this is coming from fag ash lil!!!! And yeah, why smoke at toddler groups? Bad that,I don't take the cigs anywhere in public with kids, not an example I wanna set. I realise it would be a good time to pack up,but the alternative is booze and I'd rather have the odd cheeky in garden than sneak a can mid-afternoon!!!!!!!! Lol

I just do chocolate and tea.By the time I'm fifty I'll have not a tooth in my head, save for a few tea stained ones.Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Heeeheee, don't care.
Charlie if you have no joy with the gp,would the hv be more helpful.I had a very helpful one when I had Matilda last year

Oh I'm a tea belly too!!!!!!
You know the saying-like your coffe how you like men, dark and strong-well I like my tea how I like my men, ginger and thick!!!!!!!!!!!!!Lol
Got told off when pregnant last, cos admitted how much I actually drank. I average 15 cups per day Gross!!!! There is no blood in my veins just tanin and anti-oxidents from tetley!!!!!!!
