Yes, I know it's now December and the tinsel is coming out but I'm also thinking about a summer holiday! I think this cold weather has spurred me on a bit too.
So I'm looking to go on holiday with some friends, so there will be six adults and six kids. Kids all still pre-school, oldest four years old and youngest one and a half years old. We are looking for some sun in a kiddie-friendly environment. Must have a pool with slides. Would like to have the opportunity to explore the loal area. We would like separate accommodation but want to be able to transfer the kids at night so we can spend the evenings together with adult drinks!
We all went for the first time together last year to France to a Eurocamp site which was excellent but just getting a little cold in the pool as September. We are looking for some sun! Perhaps Italy or Cyprus?
Any recommendations, please?
Right, back to Michael Buble and Jingle bells...!!!

Obviously no one is thinking about summer and the sun at the moment! Perhaps I'll ask again after Christmas.

Don't know what your budget is but I know friends have been to Mark Warner resorts and enjoyed them with their kids. They are on the pricey end so might not be what you're looking for. I would look at the all inclusive options in Thompson/Thmas Cook/First Choice etc because they have some really good deals and as you're looking to go slightly off peak (ie out of schoool holidays) the ones with kids clubs etc should be cheaper.
We're thinking about sunshine as well but can't wait until September so will be looking for somewhere end of February - hoping there will be some good January/last minute sales

Thanks, KittyKat. Another friend mentioned Mark Warner so I'll take a look. It might be a bit pricey so I'll also look at Thompson which might be a bit more cheap and cheerful which is what usually makes the best holidays!!

We went to Cyprus this year, in September weather still hot. We stayed at Louis Phaethon Beach. It has some adult water slides, 2 pools and a splash pool with toddler slides. Was pricey but all inclusive. My 2 (2.5yrs and 7yrs) loved it.
It was the furthest hotel out of Paphos but the bus was only a couple of Euros each and didn't pay for kids.

We went with Mark Warner for the first time this year - and booked to go again 2 weeks after we got back. The only thing is that I don't think any of the pools have slides however the stuff that Zoe did in kids club was just amazing - sailing, canoeing and windsurfing as an example. In the evenings she would go to the movie club so she had children's tea at 5.30 and then the kids would be dropped off in their pyjamas ready to watch a movie. After the movie has finished they go to bed, in their own little beds, and you can collect them any time up to 11.30. We hadn't intended on using this facility at all as like eating as a family but Zoe had different ideas, it was like she had her own little social life.

If Eurocamp worked for you, could you look at a Eurocamp site a little further afield? Like Spain or Italy and do a fly drive version or the 24 hour ferry to Spain?

Great ideas, thanks. I like the sound of Cyprus. I might leave the kids club for another couple of years when both my girls can go (4 year old and 16 months). Will also look at Eurocamp in Italy.
So many choices...!
