My h is running on Sunday, his 1st one. Have a feeling it's going to be very emotional! I hate crowds at the best of times so I'm not looking forward to that but am hoping I'll get caught up in the excitement. I just hope me and Rose don't get stuck with no loo!!
Anyone else been?

Go D! Where do you plan on cheering him on hon?
One of the senior guys here at work is running.

I have been in the past and am going again this year as a spectator. There are some parts of the course that are way more crowded than others but even in places like on the Embankment its not that bad crowd wise. Its just in the stations it gets very busy. Actually the centre of town is lovely because all the roads are closed.

well, in typical mad me style I've booked a parking space by westferry station and am heading up there mega early to park, then will get breakfast read papers before I meet his family. We've got a bar at West India Quay after. So hoping to see him in Limehouse. Can catch him twice then. It's supposed to rain, hope it holds off. He's trained so hard, I hope he smashes it!

What time is he hoping to do it in? Sounds like Sunday is gonna be a great day for you all.

less than his Brother! Which was 5 hours 15 mins
I don't think it will be nearly as busy in Limehouse then. It sounds like you're going to have fun.
Last time we went (pre child) we managed to see our friend who was running at Tower Bridge. Then we went off and had a very nice lunch while he was toiling around Docklands, then we saw him again on Embankment and after the race. I felt a little bit bad saying that we'd had a nice meal while he was running.
Hope your H enjoys his race and he's not too nervous right now.

Well done D for running!! it's going to be great lovely, you will get caught up with it all for sure and won't even notice the crowds!!

I hope he does ok, it's such an achievement.

thanks all. Belle, lube him up?! His poor nipples the other week, they scabbed. The thought of running a mile would terrify me let alone 26! I didn't think about painkillers, might not be a bad idea

I've completed both the London & Paris marathons, not in amazing times as it was 1 of those things I wanted to do, but London as a competitor is amazing. There's such great spirit from the crowd. Make sure he's got his name on his T-shirt/vest so that the crowd can call out his name which is a real boost. No idea about where to stand bu when my family came to see me they manage to spot me in 3 different places.
Good luck to him x
