Our local young version of Harold Bishop, who is also the dad of one of S's playgroup friends, appears to have invited himself over tonight with some of his homemade beer to spend time with H. H is not sure how this situation at the playgroup pick up occured, and called me in a panic at work - like I can do anything about it!
I've had 2 really hard days at work and little sleep with S, and could do with a break, and now I have to entertain HB. Pah.
Might go and wallow in the bath and refuse to come out. What the heck they are going to talk about I'm not sure, they have NOTHING in common at all!

I do feel for you but a little part of me chuckled when your H rang you in a panic he he I'd hide in the bath as well.

Oh dear! Sounds like the Ross and Mike episode of Friends lol. Id be taking myself off for a bath and early night. Leave H to deal with him.
It was quite funny - he was totally railroaded into it - it started out as "do you ever go to the pub in the village?" and turned into "I'll be over to yours at 8 then, yes?"
Poor H. He's sooooo crap at small talk.

He's here. I'm hiding in my room like a proper grown up! Come on Sophie, wake up with a good old night terror tonight to get me out of this and scare him away!

What's his wife like? Could you go round there?

She's fairly normal, but rather kleeky and I'm not in her kleek of worthy friends. Thank god.

Sorry but this made me laugh out loud at the thought if you hiding!

Your H is clearly too nice, this would not have happened in my house! Poor you, hope it is a quick visit.

He's gone. It wasn't too bad. I talked a lot about my job and the homemade beer was lovely and very strong. I'm a little tipsy now. H is relieved he's not been signed up to any village do gooding schemes!

Result on the beer front and good he didn't outstay his welcome! And relax.
