All I seemed to be hearing was negative things about E and her behaviour. Her teacher was complaining about her, she didn't get picked to be in the local panto due to her behaviour at dancing and her attitude at home was terrible. However yesterday was her parents evening and she got a glowing report. Her teacher said she was a pleasure to teach, she was always keen in class, she is very bright and popular, I was very pleased. Then this morning I got a text from her dance teacher to say she had tried so hard this year that she has been picked for the panto this year - I'm very proud of her and was so pressed to see her happy little face when I told her.
Also had Js parents evening and he also got a brilliant report. She said he had settled in well, he was bright as a button and would be one of the first to bring a reading book home. He has lots of friends and is keen to learn. She used to be Es teacher and she said we should be very proud to have 2 bright and lovely children. I've got a spring in my step this morning.

IIRC, my E had a turnaround at the same sort of stage. What year is she in at school now? The end of Y5 was a bit of a nightmare, but Y6 we breezed through. Since she's gone to this new school it's like she's a different child. I knew most of the problems emanated from her primary school peer group (horrid little toads some of them), now she hardly sees them I don't get the bad attitude half as much as I used to. She just needs some fine tuning and she'll be reet.

I'm a bit late to this, but what a nice update. I know she was so disappointed last year and you were worried about how she was behaving. I'm guessing that the shock of being pulled up on it by the ballet school plus your work at home with her showed that there really are consequences to being rude, etc.
