E's came back. Her BMI is 1%
Is that actually possible?! I'm not worried, she's just tall and skinny like I was (many many moons ago). Eats like a horse, does lots of exercise. I don't need to worry do I?

That's got to be an error. She'd have to be about 6' tall and weigh about 4 stone.

What's the normal BMI for her age/height etc, do you know? F hasn't been weighed at school, do they all do it???

That sounds wrong as QI says but if she's eating and exercising the BMI is a load of old tosh.

Never thought to put it into a calculator hahaha! I'll have to do it myself later and double check. Sounds wrong doesn't it, she's that skinny but not that tall.
We were sent a letter home about it, they said I could refuse to let her have her stats taken if I'd prefer they didn't. I think they do it in Reception and Y6 (pretty sure C had his taken last year as well).

Oh right I've not been told anything about it, F is in Reception.

I think they've missed a number off that figure, 1% would be ridiculous. I let them do Joshua's height and weight but I'm not particularly bothered what the results say, I know he's healthy and eats well and I weigh and measure him at home every so often myself so I don't think there will be any surprises.
Meant to say also, I'm sure she's fine, she sounds perfectly healthy to me. I would probably question it with the school though as you don't want it wrong on her records.

I thought the figure they gave you was where they are on the percentiles. I'm pretty sure that last year my daughter's showed her as being on the 25 percentile for height and weight. Is that what yours means - in which case being on the 1 percentile would be at the lower end of the range.

We didn't even get results for Jack - only the kids who were over or under weight got letters with attached advice.

Having re-read the letter, it says her percentile for BMI is 1th (1th?!). Her BMI isn't 1, she's in the 1st percentile I guess. Doh.
I have no concerns about her weight.

Pleased its a little clearer today.
At my daughter's school they gave the results to every parent, unless you asked not to include your child or not to receive the results. I wasn't worried at all about my daughter's height or weight but it was useful to get the information.
