What did you do to celebrate?
I'm the big 30 in July, and don't know what to do to celebrate. I'm not a party person, so that's not an option. We were going to take the children to DLP, but we're not going to have enough money saved by then to go.

I'm a month before you, scary! H has booked a suite in a hotel here for the weekend, just the four of us. There is a waterpark, aquarium, kids club (for Ella) to keep us busy and we are considering swimming with dolphins at their dolphinarium if E is old enough at the time.
We have a brunch booked the Friday before with friends here which will include the children too.
We then fly back to the UK and my family want to go out for dinner (I don't want a big party which I discovered they were planning). My uni girlfriends and I are currently considering a weekend in Amsterdam together too as we all hit 30 between May and August.

Nothing as mine was the week before my wedding.
If you can't afford DLP how about Legoland? The new hotel there is supposed to be fab and there's loads of rides that your kids will enjoy.

I had my boobs done then a small BBQ with family & a few friends. I was so drunk I was in bed by 9pm
I didn't do much really. Had a night out with the girls and had a night/meal out with H and a meal out with my family.

I had a party, so that is no help for you lol

I had a party but it turned out to be a very sober affair as I found out I was pregnant with #2 a few days before!

Legoland is a possibility, i'll look into that. Thanks for that idea.

My two best friends and I went to London for a couple of days and partied and shopped and then at the weekend my (now H) boyfriend took me to Brighton for the weekend for pampering and more shopping!

I had a 3 month old and was due to be a bridesmaid at my oldest friends wedding the day after. I think we may have been packing to go away and then went out for dinner just H and I that evening. Saw all my friends at the wedding anyway so didn't need to do another party and saved shelling out for my own champagne!!

Lunch with H and Ned on my actual birthday. Then I had a 'do' at a cocktail bar in town with friends & stayed in a fancy hotel for the night with H.

I had dinner at the Oxo Tower in London. This was pre marriage and children though.

We had a bbq at home, is that kind of thing an option, so not a full on party? It was lovely seeing friends and family, very relaxed, fairly cheap and such a special day, I loved it! H organised lovely little things like paper lanterns to let off at night, and cakes with embarrassing photos of me on - for me, the day was perfect. I didn't want a big fuss or something that would be expensive for people or for us as we were getting married a couple of months later.

I went out to dinner with my family for my uncles 50th - I figured when I'm 40 we can go out for his 60th!

i missed mine as Luke was in hospital recovering from his cardiac surgery. the original plan was that I would have a 4 week old baby and it would the perfect chance to show off my newborn with family and friends.
Do you want to do soemthing as a couple of family? Couply things- concert, comedy, meal out, day out with lunch. Family stuff- trip to zoo, beach, picnic, bbq, ?

I was pregnant for my 21st so always said I'd have a big 30th party, I was then pregnant for my 30th too with morning sickness so didn't get my party!
We did go out for the day and had a nice family dinner though.

Won't be much help...
We went to Vegas - had 7 nights there with friends (actual day we had champagne brunch and sunbathed), then we hired a convertible mustang and drove round the desert for 5 nights (route 66, Grand Canyon, monument valley, Zion) then back to Vegas for 2 nights.
That wax the year we also did Sri Lanka, Barbados at Christmas and a couple if city breaks). Needless to say it was pre children and marriage!
I'd do a family holiday or BBQ at home

Geordiebarbie. I'm very jealous of your trip. I'd love to do that, but would unfortunately have to win the lottery.
At the moment i'm liking the BBQ idea, and a family trip to legoland. I'll mention it to H and see what he thinks.

Mine was a few years ago now before C, I had a joint party with 3 other friends (2 other 30th's and a 40th), MrDD proposed and also took me to Rome for a few days as a complete surprise!

I wanted to go back for my 40th but Little Miss will only be 6 (plus maybe a younger sibling?) and I wouldn't want to leave them.
SO next Vegas trip is being planned for my 50th!
