I know there quite a few of us who were trying to save money, meal plan etc in the new year. Just wondered how everyone is managing? Anymore money saving tips to pass on? I'm hoping to be a SAHM mum after baby number 3 arrives so we really need to cut back.
We're getting used to meal planning and mainly shop in Aldi and have our weekly shop down to £40-£50 a week now for the 4 of us. I've just made dinner for tonight and tomorrow and reckon it's only cost me around £6 in total which I think is quite good.

I'm saving money as we need spending money for our holiday in June. We never have anything left at the end of the month to save though! So I'm selling stuff. O's baby clothes and my clothes that are too big now. Its a slow way to save but its adding up. H is asking for euros for his b'day in March and I'll be asking for them for mine!

I love selling stuff - hopefully we'll find out the sex of this baby in a couple of weeks and I'll be able to sell all the old girls or boys stuff I have

I'm still being good. I havent bought anything new this year yet unless its is with my birthday money. My food shopping bill is averaging £60 a week including nappies etc, so not too bad, although could be better. We always save more when we dont go to the supermarket in between big shops.
I am still selling and building up some money in paypal. Our bank balance looks ok at the moment and after swapping over current accounts we have saved a whole mortgage payment this month x

Good going 1st baby - we would have had a healthy bank balance this month but we spent nearly £600 getting the side of the house paved and had to buy a new shed. At least it's done now though and we had the money to do it. Also just bought a big wooden climbing frame for the kids birthdays that should last for years and get loads of use. So we're not doing so well on the no spending lol

Whoops, but like you say those things last years!

I've been trying to not use credit cards - I've not managed to do that due to some essential spends (car repairs etc) but have been able to pay off the amount spent the following month, so that is a step in the right direction! I've also been selling bits and pieces, have had a lot of success with a local facebook group.
Well done with your saves everyone!

We've managed to save £400 to pay off debt this month which is good going because we've had Es birthday, our washing machine broke and had to pay £45 to get that fixed, had to get the car taxed and pay for the yearly tv licence.
