Got the email about E's place in September last Friday. 1st choice! I am having a bit of a wobble as it is a very good school, but 2nd choice was equally as good but the 'bad' crowd I wanted to get her away from are all going there. How do you know if it's the right choice?! Parenting is HARD...
So what happens now? Do we just wait until she goes to the settling in day? I'm a bit in limbo. I can't believe my girl's so grown up

Well done on getting the school you wanted. Lauren had a whole week at seniors to settle in, I think I was more nervous than her! The school arranged it all, was July time x

Excellent news ssh! Nothing to do now except start saving for the uniform!

I think they get a taster day in June/July and they go in the day before the rest of the school to get used to the place.
Crikey, don't I know it. Fortunately the uniform is plain black but you have to buy the school's skirt/trousers/blazer. Can do it online which is handy. When I went to secondary we had to wear a hideous kilt and you could only buy it from one shop in the country!

Same as me ssh, bluewatch tartan kilt, itchy as fook too, with a nasty peach coloured blouse.

We have to buy from the school shop unfortunatly, the first year was a killer what with uniform, books and maths kits it cost a bomb. I pass it all on to the girls next door as happy for it to go to a good home when it no longer fits

And let's not forget the child who loses school shoes in her first term and a jumper in her second year!

A has just received his offer letter for his 1st choice school :-) he also received a welcome letter from the school itself listing uniform needed and a few other bits and pieces and it says he will be invited to a day there etc but more details will follow, so I assume we dont do anything yet until we hear back from the school or unless primary mention anything.
