I think I have it. I has it when I was 14 after wearing tights in the summer at schoo. I've never had it since and what I have now is different to then. Anyway I have a thick creamy discharge and i can smell myself iyswim? No itching no other signs but I can smell fanny I'm not unclean never use soap down there and sleep naked so I always get a good airing. What's going on?? Sound like thrush?

Chuck some natural yoghut on there too. Poor woman.

I second natural yoghurt - especially if it's not hurting. Much cheeper than Canesten.

Been Boots, given one tablet to take which I've just popped. Hopefully it will go away.

could have been the anti biotics you were given for tonsilitis
incresed wine intake

That was weeks ago. I blame the wine - increase in sugar....

COld be the heat, could be too much wine, antibiotics, too much sex/chaffing, lacy knickers, loads of reasons!

Is the discharge lumpy? Like cottage cheese? If its not, just thick and smelly, then you probably have BV and not thrush. Thrush is pretty much always itchy and the discharge is lumpy and odour less. Bv rarely itches and is smelly, but can cause pain.
I actually think you need to pop to your gp or gum clinic for some metronidazole. Can be caused by anything - soaps, hormones, DTD, bad luck

What on earth is BV? I've been Boots already and been given a tablet I've taken - you are freaking me out now....

Nothing worrying - bacterial vaginosis. Its a change in the pH of your vagina that can cause irritation and smelly discharge. We see loads of women in clinic who've had failed thrush treatment for years because they have it confused with bv

thanks Snidget that's why I posted as there is not lumps and no itching. It's an offwhite / cream colour. At first I thought usual monthly ewcm but smells now.

It does sound more like bv to me. Have you taken the tablet? If so give it a few days - if it works its thrush, if not it will probably be bv. Quick course of antibiotics usually fixes it. Did you say you don't use any products for washing?

Yep took tablet earlier. I can't get to the docs as so buisy at work, bugger will a GUM clinic do anything for me?
I don't use any soap or anything down there for washing, just ater. The doctor told me that after my thrush bout as a teenager and it scared me so much I truly listened. I sleep naked too so plenty of airing..

A gum clinic will do swabs and probably diagnose there and then under the microscope - I know we do.
Its often caused by soaps, but can be just one of those things - heat, periods, sex, anything
16/07/2013 at 15:49
Of you go fairly soon they'll also still be able to see if it was thrush under the microscope
