How do you know if you have a prolapse and what do you do?
sex has been uncomfortable lately and I sometimes get a tearing feeling. If I put my finger in my vagina about 2inches and squeeze and push down I feel something large "come down" (sorry!!)
ive been doing my pelvic floor exercises or trying but it seems non existent and my bladder control real getting worse! Now if I sneeze with my legs open I would actually wet my self a bit. (sorry, I'm so embarrassed about this!)
should I see my GP?
i feel so gross!! :(
please don't quotI, I will be deleting!

Go to your GP and don't take no for an answer. I went April last year and got little help, tried again 8 months later with a different GP and I have a prolapse.

What can they do for it Qi?
Will they just do an internal examination?
I will feel like an idiot if its not. (Even though I obviously hope it isn't!)

for me it was pain during intercourse and I could feel a lump poking out through my vulva when I wiped, mostly noticeable when my rectum was full. The first time I went the Dr examined me and decided I had a vaginal infection even though I didn't believe I had. She was incredible dismissive and patronising. You may ahve noticed that I use scientifc terminology but the Dr kept referring to things like my front bottom and my back bottom. When she referred to my front bottom I questioned did she mean my bladder or did she mean my vagina? I was very frustrated by the appointment. She questionned why had I come now when I had been suffering for over a year? I explained it ahd takena bit of courage to go. Anyway she convinced it was an infection and wouldn't discuss other possibilties. The test results came back clear. It took another 9 months to work up the courage to see another GP. Who examined me and explained with my medical history a prolapse was the more likely option but that it wasn't the womb, that was in the right place. She offered to refer me but I said I couldn't deal with it quite yet (which may sound ridicolous but it was s truggle getting to that stage) so the next stage is to be referred to the appropriate department - for me gynae and then look at treatment options. If I ever get to the stage of having a sex life again then I will probably look then but can't face more medical appointments at the moment.

Thank you QI.
I will go to the doctor on Monday as there is definitely something going on down there and I feel really worried about it.
I hope you manage to get the courage to pursue yours. Some GPs can really make all the difference.
