we are having a small 2hr party next sunday for jack, hes 2 on 16th, theres 7 children and 13 adults, just wanting some ideas advice on entertainment as theyre very different ages 7mnths 11mnths 2 4 4 5 7.
we have mickey and minnie mouse appearing and doing balloon modelling, ive got a pullina pass the parcel, pin tail on the donkey and musical bumps, do you think its ok to have some 'free play' take a huge paddle pool and we have tons of play balls here and at mums cars tents bubble machine etc?? or will people think thats a cop out, im just worried the games wont last very long and as its family etc theyll want to give him pressies etc the other children need something to do.
and also im doing food boxes for the kids, im putting in,
sandwich (i put choice of filling on invite) prewrapped cheese, crisps, frube, yogurt raisins, fruit bag and cupcake,
is that all ok? i cant decide if i should put some beg sticks out and salad?
IM just doing cakes drinks and nibbles for adults as its 2.30-4.30.
so any opinions extra ideas greatfully recived xx

I'd say free play was a great idea, even if you do maybe pass the parcel and some adults can help the younger kids most of the kids are too wee to understand the games really.
good luck with the party, i'm always pleased when everyone goes home and i can get a glass of wine in peace lol

Oh enjoy.I love doing all that. What cake are you doing,Mickey Mouse!Sounds tricky.I had to do a Dalek for one of the boys, that was my hardest
I made a train for Harry's 2nd,Erin had a fairy toadstool one of hers.Arthur had a caterpillar.I've even done a rocket and a tardis.Trouble is my kids think ask and you get.Mummy just makes it.Oh the butterfly,I did a butterfly once.Tend to stick to chocolate Smarties cakes now.

Laura we hired a hall for my daughters birthday and it was such a better idea, it was a fixed time so no-one arriving late and staying late, and when its done you just clear up and go home. After my sons first birthday the house was a tip, I said I'd never have another one in the house again lol
You pair are brave, I've just bought cakes for my kids birthdays so far, saying that I have been pregnant again each time. Did fully intend to make one but thought I'd be that embarrassed by the icing mess.
Good luck with the cakes Laura they sound great.

I'm dreading the making of costumes!!!! I cannot sew at all, wish I'd paid attention in needlework instead of chatting the lads up!
I had to stitch a button on big fellas trousers the other week-oh my god it was awful-that button now has half a reel of cotton on,which wasn't same colour as keks anyway, doubt he can faten it-but it sure as hell aint comin off again!!!!!
Dya think you could be taught to sew? I need lessons, when I ask my ma she just laughs at me!

I did dressmaking classes a few years ago. It's great making stuff yourself.I'm more a knitter though.
I hate everyday sewing and mending now though.I have a huge pile of mending which I ignored for over a year. The hems I needed to sew don't need sewing anymore, the kids grew quicker than I sewed. Some of the stuff is now too smallMy Mum took the rest of the pile away and she's working on it..Good job I have a queue of kids waiting for the handme downs
