I've always ignore the door bell ringing as we've always had bigger issues to deal with but this year I've decided to let Luke answer the door in fancy dress and give out the sweets. I'm not taking him out as I think he's still too young/immature to be out after dark and won't be able to eat the sweets but I think he will enjoy answering the door.
I've got a bag of marshmallows, 2 each ok? Are you supposed to say anything to the children? What about teenagers? what time to do you stop answering the door/ Am I going to regret this/1?
I've not got a pumpkin but I'm about to print a picture off clip art to put on the door!

This is the first year we're going to answer the door, although C was very upset because he'd got it into his head he was having a party and some of his friends were coming over to play with him!
I got a pack of the little haribo bags, Halloween themed ones (C has also decided they're all for him and he doesn't want to give them out - he's not a happy boy this evening!), so they'll get one pack per child I guess - there's only 20 packs in there I think so may not last long.
We have got a pumpkin, but not sure if I'm going to actually put it on the windowsill or not yet.
I don't like it when you get teenagers coming round, especially when they hardly make any effort.
No idea what to say, C's got his skeleton costume on already and has cheered up a little bit fortunately.
I probably am going to regret this!

good luck Deedee!
I'm worried that they'll keep knocking at bath/bedtime...

If they do that here, they'll just be ignored!

When I take the kids we know on houses that have a sign or pumpkin or decorations. The household owner has a little chat with Lou then offers the bowl of goodies, he always just takes one. I must say we've never been given marshmallows so just tell the kids to take two.
We've got a big bowl of chocolates, haribos and lollipops and let the kids take a few each as we don't get many. Any teenagers that knock H tells to bugger off.

It might be too early - we don't get them or go until about 6.30/7pm

We've only had one group call. Luke kept asking where everyone was. Delayed bedtime to wait but no one else turned up. word must have got round that our treats were crap.

Here people make goodybags up so once they've done their joke or whatever they get their bag

Is your house hidden? In the dark unless theres something light up its hard to see what houses you can visit

We had loads of kids at ours. I'd made goody bags but started to run out so had to tip them out into a big bowl instead

We didn't get one despite have 2 pumpkins on display. Oh well more for the kids.

We don't get any as we are on a busy road. TBH when I took kids out we really struggled to find houses that had pumpkins out, and there were a lot of dark houses, had to pass 10+ before we found one with a pumpkin out
