I'm looking for a week away in May (half term week). Either caravan or apartment or cottage, somewhere near the seaside and towns. Does anyone have any recommendations or if you are having a UK break where are you going?

We are going to Dorset this summer. We've booked a cottage through English country cottages. We used them before they have loads all round the country.
Can recommend south Devon, Isle of Wight and Dorset as all places we've visited with small children.
Did you have anywhere in mind?

I stay in St Ives in Cornwall. It can be very expensive in the school holidays, but it is a really beautiful place to stay. It has 4 beaches, a busy town with plenty of things to do for the kids plus it's not too far to travel to other places of interest if you wanted to venture around.

We had our minimoon at Devon Cliffs back in 2012 and we're off there again at the end of this month. Not sure on the costings during peak times but they are really reasonable when we've been

I have been to Haven Hopton on Sea which is Norfolk and that was lovely, Southwold is another lovely area to go in Norfolk. Dorset, Cornwall, Gower Peninsula in Wales are stunning (it all depends where you are)

We stayed near Dartmouth in South Devon one year. It is beautiful round there and there's loads to do with kids if the weather isn't so good. The in laws go to Brixham and stay at a Haven or similar site there which is lovely.
Sleepy we loved the Isle of Wight when we went a couple of year's ago. We liked that nothing is very far away and there's so much to do. We only went for a week and didn't see half the island. Its definitely on our list to go back to.
Oh, and last year we went to Guernsey which was beautiful and unspoiled but slightly further afield.

Noodle we stayed here on the Isle of Wight. It does have short but very step stair case and I'm not sure about whether it would be OK with a stairgate (my daughter was 5 so we weren't worrying about things like that any more. Also it had very low ceilings which if you or your H are tall might be a pain!
