B has some sort of weird issue with wheat similar to Coeliac if you have heard of that.
His favourite teddy bear is called Little Bear. I was actually given it by MIL many years before having B and he just adopted it some time around 14 months old. It occurred to me today that it is actually one of those bears that can be warmed. You removed the inside bung it in the microwave and it is nice and toasty to cuddle. And that bag you remove? It's filled with wheat. EEK I thought and removed it's innards and replaced it with a vest. But its arms also have some bits of wheat in as well. I have returned it to B whom is now sobbing his heart out because Little Bear doesn't feel right (particular important to him is how thigns feel and sound and smell).
I don't know what to do. Should I just give it back to him as it was? Should I try and replace the whole thing because the arms have wheat in them? Should I do something else? Bugger.

If he hasn't had any problems so far then I'd just give it back to him as it was. Has he been showing any signs of reactions?

Hmm that's an odd one. Has the bear been causing him any harm? If it hasn't been a problem before, I'd just let him have it, but if it makes him ill, or his symptoms worse, then i'd try and take all the stuffing out and fill with something else, like rice, or the inside of an old pillow? Not much help am I?

Well I don't know what his tolerance level is. He has randomly behaved as if he has had wheat and had the reactions but I hadnt been able to trace what it was that had set him off - just wondering now if it was him sucking Little Bear.

Is there some way you can explain to him that little bear needs to go to teddy hospital and when he comes back he might feel a bit different but that if he gives him gentle hugs so near still knows he loves him, then maybe he might not mind as much?
That might be a terrible idea though lol My favourite bear's leg fell off and my mum couldn't fix it back on so told me that same story, and I still have One-leg Ted now :)

I have filled him with arbiro (sp) so it feels and sounds the same. He has jsut brought it back to me stating it is full of wheat and I had to prove it wasn't. There is still the problems of the arms and legs though which are more prime sucking areas than the belly... why is nothign bloody straight forward?!?!

Can you not take the stuffing out of the arms and legs and fill with the Arborio?

Not easily as they are sewn up individually. Yes it woudl eb an easy enough task but easily enough to get it back to him in a day. I guess I will have to do that in stages.
