I'm being mean here but I just babysat for my neighbours, their house is a tip and their sofa stank, absolutely stank, I had to sit outside and read because I felt like I was just breathing in the smell.
I don't know how they can think its ok to bring their kids up like that- the floors are piled high with crap and one of the sofas just had stuff all over it, there was no space to sit. They have piles if stuff in the hallway and the kitchen worktops just have 'stuff' all over them.
I'll admit I'm not the best housewife in the world but it was a relief to come home.

That sofa sounds like mine (apart from the smell!). One currently has a pile of washing stacked on it. Although I'd definitely hide it if I knew anyone was coming round.
Years ago I used to babysit for a neighbour's kids. The mum would always apologise for all the "mess" which was usually one toy left out of place. God knows what she'd make of my house!

Oh, I put washing on the sofa, sometimes there's papers piled at one end but this sofa had just 'stuff' all over, there was not a tiny space to sit.

I'd have at least tidied up if someone was babysitting! A neighbour of ours had a really smelly sofa as she was potty training her daughter and the girl kept weeing on it- she refused to clean it as she said it happened too often, it was pointless!! Luckily they replaced it recently so I don't have to sit on the floor anymore

honestly if she'd tidied up because I was going round it would be a day long job, its that bad.

Some people are so gross. I can't physically go in to dirty houses, my friends house is gross and I make excuses not to go there! Her bathroom makes me gag!
