There are so many things I want to do with the hosue because it is 'my' house and I want things the way I would like them but at the same time feel like there is no point doing anything because we are in the process of selling this house so I should just wait until this one is sold and do things with the new house. But it is still immensely frustrating.1`

Are they really costly? If it's just painting then go for it. Ok you arent there long term but may make it more pleasant to live in in the meantime having made it "yours".

I want to repaint U's room. I want to change the carpets. I want to put bookcases up. Actually there are also a lot of things we were going to do that were long term plans like re-doing the kitchen and the bathroom. So many things I want to change!

I think painting will be fine also having new carpets will be a good selling point for people viewing. With the kitchen could you just replace the doors?

Yeah but yoyo it would be throwing money away wouldn't it buying carpets and paitinign and replacing kitchen doors. It's all pointless yearning because anything I spend on the hosue will be monbey thrwon away!

Maybe wait a little while hopefully the housing market will pick up in the new year

A minimum of one viewing this year would ahev been nice

That's rubbish, hugs. Have you spoken to the estate agent to see if they can promote it more or change estate agents. Is it priced too high? Hope it picks up in the new year for you

Can you do stuff that you can take with you - like the bookcases, change bedding sets/accessories and rearrange furniture?

QI it only takes one! We had two viewings in two years and the second one bought it (good size house, good area just bad timing). We painted one room that needed it but didn't have the money to do anything else. The guy who bought it was wanting to change the layout of the house so any improvements would have been money wasted IYSWIM?
