it is just one thing after another with this blooming child, now shes walking she thinks she rules the roost and is randomly beating up anyone in her way, she tortures jack and tom for any toy or such like the touch, my poor sister will be bald soon if she continues to pull her hair, and she screams the house down the minute she isnt touching distance from me AND andrew, she has to have us both!!!! she sayes nooo all the time and takes great pleasure in climbing really high and calling me so i have a smal heart attack.
har nappy rash has completely baffled me and every cream and brand of nappy has got me no where, luckily a mum on another forum i use is giving me a ton of bambino mio nappies, the birth to potty kit, so any idea how to use then and what i need for with them would be great...?? the hv said thats the best thing for nappie rash in alot of cases, well i hope!!!!!
Oh and she refuses to sleep, we have to lay with her then move her once shes asleep, at my mums she will nap for upto 3hrs all alone in a buggy cot or anything for her, but me and roo are greated with head banging pulling her own hair and sobbing so weve given in and her new room means a new routine and no more of her controlling tactics!
on the other hand they can be really lovely caring and sharing, and are completely hilarious, but christ am i knackered!!! its all fun though, most of the time!

Just making her presence felt. It's all fun really. When they're good they're very, very good, but when they're bad they're horrid.I'm sure once you're moved and settled, things will calm down and so will Lola.
Used real nappies on Bridie, she never had nappy rash, unless I used a disposable. They were Terry squares and plastic pants with liners,so miles away from the Bambino Mio ones.Let us know how you get on with them.Wouldn't mind getting reusables myself,I just don't know which brand to trust.Don't know what could cause a rash other than a change of wipes or nappies.Teething always gives mine nappy rash, and with Matilda too much fruit, especially certain fruits

wow...looks like Lola is really testing what she can and cant get away with. I think you have to be firm darling. I worked in a nursery and the best way to deal with it, is to be firm, say no and also ignore.
Now when she hurts someone else, instead of telling her no no no and focusing it on her. Tell her No, move her away and LAVISH the cuddles on the one she has hurt. She will soon see it doesnt get her the attention when she hurts...and when she is good...really PRAISE!
Also with the sleep...she knows how to push your buttons. Keep laying back down. Sleep Lola and walk away. repeat as many times as needed and keep your cool every time.

the sleep issue has to wait until we move now, we had no where to put the mountains of packed boxes so shes sleeping downstairs with us as our room is now 'storage', i feel pretty confident that having her own space in her first room will help her, she doesnt like any noise or movement once shes asleep weve noticed so her rooms frantically being made ready so when we move shell go in imeadiatly!
Shes been alot calmer for a few days now, shes slept and ate well, think teeth or generall lolaness was stressing her a bit! either that or the huge wack from tom put her in her place at last!
She can be a total poppet but as jos said when shes bad she is very bad, spoilt baby of the family more than likely! Shes a huge attention seeker and doesnt seem to care if we show her we are upset or cross, she just laughs and moves on the only time the no move away and fuss her victim works is with jack as shes majorly jealous! the others she just doesnt care!
Really like the bambino mios jo, very comfy for the kids, very good fit, wash and dry well, however, we are using pampers at night as she does her biggest poo the minute she wakes and i cannot deal with cleaning all that first thing, very unpleasant, but im a wimp! Normal baby business isnt so bad at all just the mega morning one, tried the kooshie all in one ones on jack, as they are velcro he takes them off to try the potty as and when he feels the need, we are doing proper potty training once hes peed a few times on the potty he hasnt so far, only does one at bedtime on the loo!
30/01/2010 at 08:47
Im sure once you move into the new house, all the new routines can begin!
Yay to Jack wanting to use the loo! what a big grown up boy by all means, he can be a loo boy first instead of potty thats easier clean up eh ♥
30/01/2010 at 15:18
yep, im more than happy to skip using a potty!
only 22days until the house is empty, not sure the exact date we will go in as roos decided to decorate jacks room first!

Sounds like re-useables going well then Lau
As for re-naming-we've considered that for Jc,was thinking, satan himself??? And Corrinne, being firm has no effect on that boy Whatsoever!!!! Seriously,I am no pushover but am lost when it comes to Jc-if you firmly tell him no,he pulls tongues and laughs in your face,if you shout,he shouts back,if you ignore he ignores you and carries on regardless.
I have checked his head for 3 6's since about 9week old, they will be spotted one day,I'm convinced. He is a horror, good job I love the bones of him!!!!! So so cheeky, and hilarious!!!!!!
Latest trick for him is just thrashing poor Tom,then crying if Tom walks away Monster!!!!

rachel im starting to wonder if jc and lola are destined to be together, they are so alike!
Lolas moment today was, jack was told to stay still laying on the floor while i went for more wipes whilst changing him, i come back shes sat on his head cackling saying jack jack nooooo, and pulling his ears, i grab her off and jack calmly sayes, Oh lola and shakes his head!
01/02/2010 at 21:04
Peas in a pod what to do with them is the big question!!!!!
He has actually been quite sweet today, only hit Tom once, threw 1 train at me and slapped Ian,so pretty calm for him!!!
02/02/2010 at 00:17
Lolas actually been the good one today
we had jack tom and lola at my mums and the boys were MONSTERS they emptied every toy in site and generally attacked anyone or thing (poor dog) in there way, lots of slapping and nos were thrown about. In the end i put jack in the car for five minutes, tom in his cot, roo watching the monster from the door, while i tidied generally made sure dog and lola were fine and told my mum to come home NOW.
nothing, NOTHING is worse than two grumpy toddler boys!! not even lola!
02/02/2010 at 22:32
He he welcome to my world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Could be worse-not sure how, guessing more than 2 grumpy toddler boys!!!!!

Ok Clair you win !!!!!!
That must be hard going.........how does Jo cope??????
I think I've mentioned before a friend of mine has 9,and if I ever say I've had a hard time, she never ever says how hard she has it,and in fact she always looks better than me,more relaxed, certainly more organised, and I'm guessing you have to be with a large family-or it just wouldn't work. Must admit when I found out I was pregnant with Jc,I thought ooh 17mths between how will I manage, you just do,and hopefully god willing I have more I'll cope again-easy or hard just have to get on with it!!!!
I could have 9 Tom's anyday-but another Jc................
03/02/2010 at 22:22
clair you do win!!!
hope your ok, that doesnt sound much fun!
kids eh, little monsters sometimes, lola has only just stopped screaming, she started at 4ish and hasnt stopped, she ate and complained, shes had a bath complaining milk and so on, calpol teething gel the works, i think she is just in a foul mood today!
03/02/2010 at 22:37
Hope the moody toddlers improve. When it comes to teething we do the powders, and the calpol, and the gel.Something among that works.
Sounds like you need chocolate Clair.I keep a stash, that's just my stash, for just such an occasion. It's been proved in a study,we read it on here, somewhere,a few weeks ago.

Noah has two beautiful little teeth, but seems to be getting the ones either side they don't seem to be giving him as much trouble. Today he has decided he can now roll over either way, turn himself round and reverse slightly after not trying hardly before.
Bigger two have been little angels today which in itself is quite worrying everything I have asked them to do its been yes mummy and they've done it.
Hope everyone is ok and all your lovely children. x

jack has been a total angel today, and talking like a proper person, i about burst into tears in toybox, he was just having a look, being very good and said, mum mum, i asked him what was up, and he replies, Mum look its a duck, and a boat oh and nuvva car!!! my mums face was a picture, she said where did that come from and he huffed and said, jack!
Lola on the otherhand appears to have a bug, she was sick in the night, ALOT and has slept alot all day in between needing to be cuddled, was very happy in the buggy enjoying being cosy in the fresh air but not so happy at home!
we do teething powders to jo, ran out yesterday tho, which ones do you use, weve tried 3 kinds and find astons and parsons the best for the tummy side of things but not sure about the teeth part iyswim
