I've not worn my wedding and engagement ring for over 3 years! Since gaining weight. I am hoping to get it resized but it is quite a thin band so don't think there is much gold to increase it. It is also yellow gold and I would like white gold. I'm not sure whether to just see if I can get it resized in yellow gold, see if it can be melted and have white gold added to it and then get my engagement ring band changed to white gold to match it. Or keep my wedding baNd as it is but put it away safe and just buy a new band? Not really sure about this as a new band wouldn't be my original wedding ring and wouldn't have been blessed.. how would you feel about this?

I wouldn't swap my wedding ring for anything.

I'd take it to a jewellers and see what options you have to resize, or get both wedding and engagement rings changed to white gold.

I'd get a new one.
I did get a new one, when H finally got me an ER, after 19 months of marriage, haha. I got a diamond band, that matched my ER.
I wasn't bothered about my wedding ring when we got married, as I know I wouldn't wear it, so we got a cheap £150 band. It doesn't bother me that it isn't the same ring. It could be a Haribo ring, we'd still be married...

Just asked my H about it (he's a jeweller) and he says it would be easy to rhodium plate, but it won't last all that long so you'd probably have to have it done quite regularly, and if you were to get it melted down, you would have other metals added to it which would lower the purity of gold, or mean you'd end up with much more metal than you started with. I think you'd need to go speak to someone so they can see your rings to find out how much either option would cost though.
I bought another one when mine no longer fit (it does again now). My MIL said about it being bad luck etc etc but its just a ring. It's not your marriage.

It would be a new one here.
I bought myself a second engagement ring at the end of our 9 year engagement because I had gone off the original. I am not very attached to objects as you will be able to tell!

After I had DS1 I had my yellow gold wedding ring and e-ring changed to platinum (I actually went in for an eternity ring! But I realised I wasn't really a fan of yellow gold so much anymore and didn't want another yellow ring). The stone in my engagement ring is the original stone but my wedding ring is a brand new one and I have the old one at home. We didn't have a church wedding so the whole 'blessed' thing didn't cross my mind TBH!
I have a friend who 'upgraded' her E-ring diamond to a bigger one as they got better off!!
