Are these plans very similar now? I know SW has extra easy and I'm sure WW has something similar where you don't count points? Or have I dreamt that? :-) i need to lose weight and not sure which plan to go with? I think I would rather count points. Any advise would. Be appreciated

I heard ww has a plan similar to sw but dont know the details. I was a ww girl for years but joined sw in October and wouldnt go back to ww now.
With ww most food is pointed except some veg and maybe fruit now. You get a set amount of points a day to use and then a bonus point allowance for the week. If you use them all you end up living on stir fry or salad (or i always did!).
With sw a lot of foods are totally free. You can do red or green days (mainly carbs on green or mainly protein on red) but they now do extra easy which is exactly that!! Food falls into 4 categories - Superfree which is all your fruit and veg and each meal should be a third superfree foods. These foods can be eaten freely. Free foods - this is your lean meat, fish, eggs, pasta, pulses, potatoes, rice etc. These can also be eaten freely as long as you have superfree foods on your plate too. Healthy Extras - Each day you have one serving of dairy (milk, cheese etc) and one serving of fibre (wholemeal bread, some cereals, ryvitas, some cereal bars). Syns - everything else like butter, naughty things, anything not in the other 3 groups of foods. You get a max of 15 syns a day.
I've made sw seem really complicated and it takes a couple of days on plan to get your head round it but i find it much better than ww. If you use all your daily syns on sw if say you go out for lunch, you can still have spag bol for tea syn free!! Today i ate yoghurt and fruit for breakfast, 4 ryvitas with cream cheese and salad for lunch with a mullerlight, sausages, new potatoes and veg for dinner. I realised i had only used 3 syns on some milk for coffee so had a hot chocolate! You are meant to have at least 5 syns a day. I am never hungry on sw.

Meant to add some of the meals on sw which are totally syn free which i often have are -
Chicken and potato curry
chilli and rice
sausage casserole with potatoes
homemade chips with homemade curry sauce
tuna pasta bake
stir fry with noodles and egg
Most meals are almost mormal meals with a few tweaks so the whole family can have the same thing. Its not "diety" food and you can eat as much as you like.

I do SW. you are not supposed to feel hungry on SW and that was a key factor for me.

I've done both, and I'm finding SW much easier and less restrictive than either of the WW plans - I'm struggling at the moment with having constant nausea, but there's so many free foods you can eat, so with your healthy extras and syns you don't need to go hungry or miss out on treats. I'll definitely be going back to it after this baby arrives!
