My h has no initiative so I will need to tell him exactly what I want. My 'big' presents are a stethoscope and clinical handbook for my new job (oh the excitement! But tbh they are expensive and its great that he's getting them for me), the last I heard he was trying to get tickets to cirque de soliel as well. I can have £20/30 on stocking fillers but tbh I buy all my own make up as and when I need it, I've loads of perfume (and tbh it costs more than £30 anyway), what are you getting? I did think of the Florence and the machine album and a body shop face wash but other than that I can't think. H is easy to buy for I just got him loads of sweets from the American sweet shop, so he got sweets, twinkies and pop tarts he will be absolutely delighted with them!!!

We have actual stockings to put gifts in so they have to be small in size.
Last year I had - some bracelets, a nice fold-up shopping bag, some embroidery threads, chocolates including choc coins, got to have them.
This year I know I will be getting a kitchen timer and choc coins, I know this as I have bought them myself!!! (As indeed a couple of last years I bought myself too)

Ive asked for eye cream, morroccanoil, robbie album, john bishop dvd, slippers, pyjamas....can't think what else

We just don't buy stuff like this for each other. One gift if we are lucky and then a few things 'from' the kids. We should really make more of an effort.
05/12/2012 at 21:31
Alsi this is technically from the kids. What is morrocan oil is it a hair treatment? Yep choc coins are a must lol
05/12/2012 at 21:34
Socks, cds, dvds, sweets, umm not sure. I always put novelty boxers in H's lol.
05/12/2012 at 21:50
what do you mean from the kids? surely the stocking is from santa?!!!
(socks are another must)
05/12/2012 at 21:58
Well yes obviously from Santa but h is buying me the stethoscope but the kids will get me the stocking fillers but obviously to the kids everything is from Santa
05/12/2012 at 22:21
Yes CP, it's a hair treatment oil

Stockings? You have a stocking? Oh god I don't do anything like that. It ends up getting silly imo. Any smaller items I buy for myself, why am I gonna stress H out anymore by asking him to go to various shops for stuff I don't need.
No, we don't do stockings for adults.

We don't even exchange gifts, although this year we treated ourselves to the iPad, just got t early...

The reason we are doing them is because iv never had Xmas off for 11 years, I'm trying to make it special. Il be working next Christmas so this year we are going all out. Iv got 3 days off over Xmas and I'm basically having Christmas overload because its like the first Christmas iv actually been at home. Iv got L and I a stocking and L is asking lots if questions so iv got us stockings too.
06/12/2012 at 12:38
Sorry no idea how to edit, yes KS it probably will start getting silly but tbh I don't care, iv worked and looked after other people for 11 solid years and this year I get to spend the whole of Xmas eve and day with the kids and I might be a tad more excited than L , my house looks like an explosion in a tinsel factory and there's random Xmas activitys booked left right and centre (poor h, L and I...they will be desperate for me to be back to work next year )

You don't need to explain to me, I'm simply saying we don't do them.

We have stockings for each other, plus one for the cat! ha! No babies here yet. We always have surprises so I dont know what will be in mine but last years had Benefit make up, chocolate coins, chocolate orange, haribo, exfoliating gloves, hair bobbles, bubble bath, socks, earrings and a couple of dvds. I'm hoping for Robbies album and Jamie olivers new book along with a few bits of make up this year, Ive hinted enough so I should get them.

I love stockings, the best part of Christmas for me as its normally tat! H normally buys me something like a face mask, socks, knickers, sweets, chcolates and a cd.
He has got a gillette set, a bumper pack of chewing gum, and socks! Will add sweets a clementine and some choc!

We don't do stockings for each other, in fact we don't do presents at all anymore for each other. everything is for the kids.
06/12/2012 at 16:55
Me and H don't do stockings for each other, but my Mum gets me plenty of stocking fillers.
Sweets, make up, socks, hat, scarf and gloves, costume jewellery, hair accessories, Hello Kitty stuff.
06/12/2012 at 18:40
O god! H has just informed me that he's chosen me something, its apparently £25, he thinks il like it but is going to risk it! God this will be a disaster won't it like the dkny briefcase and the solo romantic hot air balloon trip
