I got a pair of jeans & shorts today. 14 was loose, but 12 was a touch too tight. I bought the 12 thinking that I'm still losing & jeans etc stretch - now I am wondering whether to take them back

Depends on the price of them really and if I have a muffin top in the smaller pair. I'd stick with the baggy clothes I'm in until I fit nicely into the next size down. With shorts I'd probably got for the looser pair as I'd want them comfier

I try to be realistic about it these days - I've wasted money in the past on things that will look better on when I lose some weight then completely failed to lose the weight. I tried on some jeans recently which were just a bit tight around the waist but looked OK elsewhere. I decided to stick with my too loose jeans for a bit longer rather than spend the money.
Having said that I wore skirt yesterday which I bought last year and was too tight. But I was lazy about sending it back at the time.
So be realistic with yourself about your chances of slimming into them soon. If you are in the slimming zone then they'll give you something to aim for.

There's no muffin top in them. I don't need to wear a belt tho with them. The jeans are skinny ones with a bit of stretch. I've had to chuck a couple of pairs of size 14 jeans out lately because they're so big on me. Gah, what do I do? Lol.
Thanks tho x

Try them on again after eating this evening. If they're too uncomfortable how much more do you think you would have to lose to make them comfortable.

Buy the size 12 because I find jeans always stretch and there's nothing worse than a saggy bum that the jeans have given you I feel your pain because I am in between sizes at the moment and I literally have about two outfits that fit, it's so frustrating.

Shorts I like looser anyway, so I would buy a 14, jeans stretch so I would stick with the 12.

We talking loose on the waist or leg? You can't have a loose waist you'd be hoiking up all the time. But if these are for holiday where your generally sweatier and eating and drinking tons id prob go with bigger size.
You've still not said if you want my playsuits x

I'd take them back and try on sizes from somewhere else, I find different shops sizes come up differently x
