As a new mother I have been given lots of advice but what is the one thing you have learned or one piece of advice you have been given that you would pass on?

    Thanks

Take in all the advice that you are given, then disregard anything you dont agree with!!

Seriously, my tip is always be prepared.  I have always hated being confined to the house, so i always had the changing bag filled and ready to go.  After every trip out, it would be re-filled and left by the door for next time.  Simple but effective.  I dont need the changing bag anymore as mine are all a bit bigger now, but if i know we are going out the next day, i still prepare everything ready for leaving.

Try to give time to your children - if they want to talk to you, allow them to do it.

Moomin - you are your children's mummy, and you are the best mummy for them.  I used to think the same as you, thinking everyone else was so perfect, and feeling that everything was too much, and sometimes I still do, but things will get better.

You should see your doctor and tell them how down you are feeling.

Moomin,we all have those days,we feel like a rubbish Mum.I bet your children wouldn't agree with you.You do the best you can, sometimes we make mistakes, sometimes we'd rather do stuff differently but we're only human and our children are happy, well looked after and love us for all our faults.
You are good enough.Nobody's prefect. You've a lot to deal with right now and maybe it's getting you down.Doesn't sound like after all you have to do for everyone else there's much left for you.
Perhaps chatting to your doctor will help if you think you're feeling really unhappy, there is no shame in asking for help.
