I've haven't really started yet, I've picked up some sun creams, and a few bits for C that he needed, but haven't started sorting any clothes out yet for either of us (MrDD sorts his own stuff out) - we go on holiday on Sunday and I'm a little worried that I'm going to find I don't have enough stuff, but I have no time to go shopping! Trust me to be working tomorrow when I usually have a day off so I'd use less of my holiday allowance while I'm away.
Please someone else tell me they also leave it this late! MrDD always does but then he only needs shorts and t-shirts.
Also, how many shorts/tops/swim stuff etc do you usually take for yourself and LO for a 2 week holiday? I'm a bit concerned as we only have 15kg each, but we usually have a higher luggage allowance.
Update - Spent about an hour this morning sorting out mine and C's clothes and pretty much done Just the other bits and pieces to sort out which are mostly together anyway.

I don't pack until the night before we go. However I make sure we have stuff in the weeks leading up to going. I get a bit flappy if I don't have things ready. H has been known to just hit the sports shop on the morning of our flights!

I don't know what I usually take. Too much. But last time we went, L wasnt included in the weight and I took nappies and formula and ready made stuff, think that we had 40 then between us. Now we have 45 between us, so I thinking that it will be ok.
I will get the cases out and put them in the spare room and start putting things in them the week before I go!
I pack in the week leading up to the holiday.
My Parents are going away on the 19th, and my Mum has got their cases all packed.

I'm glad you've all said that! I'm sure I have enough clothes as what I took last year had hardly been worn and I haven't worn them since, plus I have picked up a couple of bits last week. I'm working from home for the next two days so should be able to start getting the clothes for me and C out then - one of the suitcases is out already so I can put stuff in it. I did try a couple of my bikinis on at the weekend and I didn't look too awful in them, so after a week of shredding they should be fine
MrDD went for a last minute shop on Monday (we won't have time Sunday and he's at work all week, including Saturday), but came home with nothing! He did order a top online yesterday although it might not arrive in time.
We've still got to get some Euros too, I might just go Sainsbury's for them as they are one of the better rates and should be able to pop in on Saturday since we're going to a birthday party near there at lunch time, can always pick up last minute bits from there too if I need anything.
My Mum's like that AK, she starts packing about a month before she goes!
Kellfi - Oh yes, I always have too much stuff! I'm sure we'll be fine weight wise, I just worry about everything

I get bits together and make sure clothes we want to take ate washed and ironed. I put the stuff in the case a day or two before we go

AK your mum sounds excited! Ha ha x

AK my mom is like that - she also has a "holiday wardrobe" of shorts/tops she doesn't wear in the UK (on the basis of it not being hot enough) - so they get washed and packed again waiting, same for her "travel toiletories" - weird!
I packed for us the night before we went - I counted my dresses a week before and tried on swimwear (luckily as I needed all new). E moved to 3-6months 2 days before we flew so i'd known she'd enough newly washed etc stuff. Formula etc was easy enough to pack/list as I used it.

I normally try and get it all done the weekend before we go, but i've been gathering bits and putting it up for a month or so. All the kids clothes are washed and ready to go into the cases, they've both got a drawer of holiday clothes and they're not allowed to wear them.
H is the pain, i've asked him for the last couple of weeks to sort out what he wants to take so it is washed and ironed, and ready to go. If it's not done by this weekend then he can do it himself.
The one time i left the packing until the last minute was mine and H's first holiday abroad, i forgot to pack half of his clothes so he hardly had anything to wear the whole time he was there

Exactly as belle said, I do the night before and H too has been known to hit the retail park the morning of! I'm well jell, I hope you have a fab time!

Well done for getting it done.
My H and I now pack at different times because he stands helplessly by his suitcase and asks me where everything is rather than looking himself. I used to get so incensed that we agreed we'd do it separately.
I normally only pack the day before but I have everything ready beforehand. I don't like to pack too early otherwise I have to keep unpacking to check I've put things in

We go tomorrow .... I have the suitcase down from the loft but that is about it. I really do need to do it today though while Zoe is at creche as otherwise she is going to unpack as quick as I pack.

Jelly Baby my daughter loves to help pack but she puts in loads of unsuitable stuff. I have to go through and put in the things she actually needs when she's lost interest. She also just shoves things in without a thought to how creased they will become. Which makes me wonder why I bother to iron things in the first place

I am off on honeymoon on the 3rd June, My parents have got me the most amazing suitcase it's a Marilyn Monroe suitcase, I love it.. Been buying little bits as we go like suncream etc.. Looking forward too packing!

Exactly what Cedar said, H infuriates me with packing. He will be shoving things in while I'm standing at the door waiting to go. But then I used to infuriate him by packing too early so now I just do it the day before.

Well I can say that I have just finished, sat on the suitcase to get it closed, and the taxi is coming in 20 mins.
