so lots of development over the weekend, iv now collected 'my uggs', mils ashes......and a humongous full length picture of her , fil has got 3 full length photos of mil one for him (he's put it on main living room wall) one for us one for sil. So uggs can sit in my wardrobe for a year or so then get binned, some ashes will go on Williams grave then we can keep the rest but where o where can I put the life size photo h said in the dining room as its less conspicuous, I said in our bedroom as no one else will see but then mil will be there in full life size view, I said to h we could put it in the garage as he can then see the photo when he's on the treadmill
where can I put her....I HAVE to put her somewhere iv been told

Btw we have lots of normal size pics of mil, its just the hugeness that puts me off

Oh goodness. Yes a full length picture of any family member is a lot to have anywhere. I'm not sure about in the bedroom, wouldn't be keen on my MIL watching me get changed and in bed etc i don't think!! Do you have space on upstairs landing? That's somewhere she'll be seen but not a room so you won't be sat looking at her a lot IYSWIM?!

Definitely not the bedroom!! I'd go for the garage out of all those options I think.

I was thinking if the landing but h said 'so you'd be happy with 'full name inc middle name' being the first thing you see when u open the front door or get up the stairs' we always call her her full nane as she was insistent on me and bil calling her mrs surname so h and I always refer to her as her actual full name! My h says no to the garage! Sigh! I might ask L if he wants it in his room

Do you have a downstairs loo? That could be the perfect place!
What a thing to give someone!!!

on the back of a door in the spare room? what a peculiar thing to have in your house.
14/05/2013 at 09:51
LOL CP, at least it's just a picture. I thought you had her ashes or something! << I wrote this and then re read your OP.
Is there a door you can put it behind? That way you just have to open a door to hide the picture. FIL isn't expecting you to create some sort of shrine is he?

In the bin? Seriously who has a full length picture of their mother in their house?

Oh.Sweet.Lord. Why???????? How can you have a pic that big of your MIL in your house?!
14/05/2013 at 10:19
Fils dining room is the shrine, there's 26(!!) photos of her in there, all her ornaments and one chair and he sits and listens to her Motown album in there bless him. Sil has said she's decorating so will put it up after that (she isn't decorating!). H and I do have a few pics of her dotted around but Ffs its not my cup of tea to have a huge photo of someone other than my children! I'm considering a corner in the dining room h says it HAS to go up but he obviously is aware of the hugeness if it
14/05/2013 at 10:22
I'd tell my H to do one he can have it in his man cave. I can't help but laugh, it's like one of those huge pictures of Jesus my nan has dotted around her house. He's even in the loo watching you pee!

If your H says it has to go up then the only place for it is the garage?! There's no way is have a life size photo of anyone up in my house!
14/05/2013 at 10:45
Wow, could you blow up a group picture you have with her in it to that size so it's not just one of her, that could be more bearable? Does fil visit often?
14/05/2013 at 11:07
oh my lord thats very odd.
14/05/2013 at 11:40
Dining Room, then I would accidently break it in a couple of years. alternativly I would just put it up when FIL is coming over I am really not one for huge photos of people other than my two girls

Thinking of maybe the wall at the patio doors where the curtains are, so I could put the curtains back a bit further??????
