and I couldn't answer the phone. How pathetic is that? They will jsut want an update but the thought of speaking to someone from work has made me want to vomit and I'm trying to control a panic attack. I thought the tablets ahd stopped the panic attacks, bugger

should they even be contacting you while you're off? I've had times like that when I just can't answer the phone, it might feel pathetic, but it's not, and it seems them contacting you like this is making it worse for you xxx

It is the HR department rather than my boss. She will just want an update as my sick note runs out next week.

I hate phone calls as it is so I really don't blame you. I hope I'm not speaking out of turn, but put yourself first. If the phone call makes you feel that way then you can't be ready to return either. [hugs]

It's not pathetic! If your not ready to talk to them then so be it, try not to worry if you're not ready to go back then that's fine, needing more time is perfectly acceptable x

Could you insist on all communication being by email so you don't have to talk to anybody? I don't know what your work problems are, but when I was signed off sick for a little while after a bereavement, my work were happy to be kept updated by email as I really wasn't up to actually talking to people a lot of the time. Employers shouldn't ring somebody when they're off sick.

I was the same last year QI. It didn't help I was a wreck and they were pressuring me. I would let H answer or text my boss. It's not a nice feeling!
