Someone knocked on the front door and said he saw the for sale sign and had some questions about the property. I didn't let him in but answered all the questions outside on the blustery drive. I wasn't happy to let him in, did you think that was sensible or would you ahve let him in to look round?

very sensible. you are in your right to direct him to the estate agents to make an appointment. that is why you pay them?

You did the right thing.

Thank you - I'm never sure if I am over cautious. He said he was driving past and liked the look of it and was over here from Spain and was going back on Sunday so didn't have time to contatc the estate agents. He was very plausible but then so are msot con artisits!

No I wouldn't have let in either. Did he ask to look around?

I wouldn't have let him in either.

He definitely had time to make one phone call on his mobile and get them to call you. Ten minute job. If he's keen he could have rung them straight after and had a formal viewing before he left.

Agreed that you did the right thing by not letting him in
