Hope it's okay to venture over here with a question! Wasn't sure where else to ask!
So we are friends with a couple who are currently getting married abroad, just the two of them. We're about to send a card... but do we also send a gift? They don't have a party over here booked yet but I think they'll have an informal meal with friends at some point over the summer. I'm really unsure of the etiquette.
If it helps, they brought a gift to our wedding last year. If we did send a gift it would likely just be cash in the card.

We went away to get married and were given gifts by people at the little reception we had. I'd be inclined to give them a small gift.

If it was me I would send cash - maybe £30/£40 ish because they had given me a gift previously

Only give them a gift if you want to... and look forward to you posting over here more

Thanks, think we'll send something then :)
QI, I'll def make more effort to post over here - probably more likely when I go on mat leave in a few weeks as access at work is inconveniently poor

We married here in the UK but we had lots of presents from people who weren't invited to the wedding. (Like Mum's work friends etc).
I don't think sending a gift is a thing you only do because you are going to the wedding, it's something you send in celebration of that event.
If it was me, I'd be sending something.
