On Sunday, a policeman knocked on our door to ask us if we'd seen anything regarding a neighbours car being tampered with. We hadn't.
Roll on to today. We live in a small cul-de-sac. Next to the side of our house is the residential car park with parking for 4 out of the 8 houses that live around here. We know all the cars well. All of this is surrounded by trees that shelter us from the main road. When driving there it's a long route to get to our part of the road.
H got home from work today and there were 2 men in a car parked in one of the neighbours spaces. One of these men, got out of the car, ours are parked at the furthest point of the carpark, into the woodland just behind our house and started peeing. He looked a bit awkward when H got out of the car but carried on. H and I then watched from the bedroom window. Man number 1 got back into the car, and man number 2 got out and went and did the same thing. He then got back in the car and they both sat there for 5-10 minutes before driving off. We took the registration number.
When the car drove off, it turned into another dead end residential carpark in our road. I don't know if they live there or whether they were doing the same thing there.
Does this sound suspicious to you? H and I can't agree whether we should contact the police or not especially after what happened on Sunday. They weren't commiting a crime after all.

Peeing in public is an offence!
I wouldn't report something like that normally but since you were asked the other day, I would probably call and give the information. It's up to them then to decide if it's relevant or not.

I think given the police contacted you first I might give them a call.
I live opposite a wood and it amazes me the number of bin men/window cleaners/delivery drivers who nip in for a wee. On more than one occasion I have been tempted to shout "I can see your ***" from the window. But what would the neighbours think?

Yes, call it in, on 101. You never know, they might already have suspicisions about this particular vehicle you saw, but not enough for 'evidence' IFKWIM.

I felt like I should say something because of the contact with the police on Sunday but H didn't agree.

As others have said, definitely report it.

Yes I would too report and then the police can decide from there

I agree as they had already been in touch I'd prob call them.

I would report it. They're acting suspiciously, you don't recoginise the car and they peed in public. As someone else has said, it's up to the police to decide whether or not the information you give them is relevant.
