I have heard this, A LOT.
As most of you know, my folks get married on Saturday. So, this week, my to-do list includes
- Buy tights, and new strapless bra.
- Shave hair, buy dye, bleach and colour my hair.
- Bake and decorate 70 cupcakes
- Decorate my Mums reception venue
- Get nails and eyebrows sorted.
This is on top of looking after my 2 ill boys, and running the house on my own, as H is away all week.
TODAY, my Mum phones me and asks me to find a reading for my Aunt, print her boarding passes off for her Honeymoon, bake and decorate 20 cupcakes tomorrow, for her service users, wax another BMs eyebrows, Wax her face (fun), make 6 button holes (after I spent months already making flowers for the bouquets, making each petal individually. Why couldn't she ask then?) so I need to buy more fabric, and sort transport for last minute guests. But I don't mind, do I???? What's a couple more jobs, on top of the whole wedding I have already planned!!!!
I feel stressed, and just know i'll be so busy doing things for everyone else, I won't get a chance to get myself sorted. I'm just too nice, haha.
Will be glad when this wedding is fecking over TBH.

Oh lordy! Can you delegate some of that to aother BM?

Oh dear, like Belle says, can you delegate some stuff to other people? Or tell your mam your too busy to do some of the stuff.

Goodness me, is there no-one that can help? Can they not go to a Salon to get waxed?

Can you get a bra and tights online?

The other bridesmaids are useless, and are there for decoration. They have done NOTHING!
They can't bake, and they don't know how to make the flowers. I apparantly have a "way with words", so My Mum wants me to find a reading, or write one myself (how about "f**k off" was my less than polite response to that)
In the mood I am in, one BM is at risk of me waxing both of her eyebrows off completely...
My Mum has herself to blame, when I rock up to the wedding, pi$$ed on Champagne!!!

Just text my best friend, and she said "bra and tights sorted", so that is one job ticked off the list. Love that girl.
I suggested they go to a salon (even offered to pay for my Mum), but no, they want me to do it. I should add, I have NEVER waxed anyone before.
Oh dear it's not like you to sound stressed. Does your mum have to have these extra cupcakes tomorrow?? I'd be sending the BMs to a salon or just pluck their own fecking eyebrows!

Yep, she needs the cupcakes tomorrow as it is her last night at work.
When I got off the phone to my Mum, C said "oh Mum. You aren't happy, are you? Do you want a massage?" hahaha.

I can see why only you can do the cakes/flowers but I would flat refuse to be waxing other people, you've got enough to do, they can go to a salon!

I'd send mum to Tesco to buy the sodding cakes, you've got enough on your plate and it's not like she didn't know she was finishing tomorrow. I'd also be tempted to wax their brows off. WHo in their right mind risks a stranger doing their brows who's never done ti before? Bizarre.
HIt the vodka.

thats taking the mick. i deffo wouldnt be waxing for people.

I've talked to my Mum, and got a few things sorted.
Managed to convince her that non wedding party people didn't need a button hole.
My Aunt has found her own reading.
Made the cupcakes this afternoon, which saves me a job tomorrow.
Everything else I can handle. I think my Mum knew she'd piled the pressure on, so she is buying me lunch, and my hair dye tomorrow. Can't grumble at that.

Glad you've got things sorted AK. Can't wait to see pics of the big day.

Ah I was just going to offer to email over some readings, H did one at SILs wedding last weekend, but glad to hear youve got most of it under control.
But why would you want someone to wax your eyebrows if they'd never done it before??
Hope she buys a nice lunch tomorrow x
