Is what I was told this morning.
Not sure if it's because I was running round like a loon playing with C and his friends on the playground this morning, or because I was wearing a faux fur, dalmation print coat, and a Hello Kitty hat.
Either way, I have no tolerance for dullards, and told her to bore off, then carried on playing with the kids. She looked offended, and scuttled off (and then nearly fell on some ice, which the kids found hilarious) I'll give her some credit though, at least she said it to my face. Usually people just say it behind my back, or just loud enough for me to hear, but when they feel safe with their friends, not on their own.
I act grown up when I need to be, not when my son and his friends want to play.
Do you act like a grown up all the time?

Who was it that told you that?!
I don't act like a grown up all the time no but have never had anyone comment on it, maybe I do reserve the very childish behavior for at home though, I don't really know!

erm no - that's the joy of children isn't it? The perfect excuse to join in and be a kid again - I'm sure there is some quote along them lines but can't for the life of me think of it. Was she being serious?

Is was one of the other Mums. I've never seen her crack a smile.
Wait until she sees me in my pink and black Santa hat, i'll make sure i give her a massive MERRY CHRISTMAS. Sour faced moo.
Growing old is compulsory, growing up is optional. something like that

I've had someone say they are envious of how relaxed I was with my children - as I was having a race to the school door with B - maybe that was what that woman meant to me, I should grow up
She should ahve told youto stop ebing happy and enjpying life because obviously thta's what it mena sto grow up.
11/12/2012 at 09:59
How rude. SHE should grow up and stop poking her nose in.
11/12/2012 at 10:09
I would love to have the energy to do that, however I am a boring old fart who is too worried what other people think. I'd look at you and wish I could relax enough to be like that.

What JB said! I'd love to be a bit more chilled out.
11/12/2012 at 10:37
Good on you AK!
11/12/2012 at 10:59
If you can't act like that with your kids when can you?
11/12/2012 at 11:02
I am glad you told her to bore off.
11/12/2012 at 11:21
Growing up is optional!
I feel sorry for her kids if she thinks playing with them is immature.
11/12/2012 at 12:15
What an idiot! Good for you for telling her where to go!
I act completely like a child with E! I couldn't give a monkeys what other people think either. It's fun!

Life would be very boring if we were sensible and grown up all the time. I was thinking this last week at Guides. We had a christmas CD on while the girls were in groups writing letters to their american pen pals. Myself and the other leader were bored, so we started wacky dancing to the music and turned it up really loud. We started off sort of ballroom style, did a bit of everything and by Mary's Boy Child, we were dancing Gangnam Style. I briefly wondered if i should've been doing that pregnant, but i never for a moment thought i should grow up. As it happens, when i read back the letters later one of the groups had written "we love claire, she's the best leader ever. FACT" and i'm sure my dancing was part of that...

I would have laughed at you - in a good way, how boring is she! I'd have been envious and admired your sense of fun and energy.

I spend so much of my time working when I have to be serious/grown up so when I am stupid, I am really stupid! Usually, at the most inappropriate times.
I NEED to see said coat and hat look, would soooo love to wear the hat over my work suit, just to see the faces!!

I've seen her H dance along to the school plays etc, and i'm sure if she'd attended any of the school plays, she'd have just sat there with a bored expression on her face. I don't think she has fun with her child TBH.
LM, here's the hat and coat. I have piggy tails in too. I really am just a big kid
I don't want my child growing up thinking his Mum was boring.
