HAs anyone been to any classes? I'm starting it tonight for the 1st time with a friend, am nervous that I'm going to look like a prat but excited to do something for myself! What should I wear?? Am I going to be dying??

I go a couple of times a week. Its good fun!
You'll get hot so wear comfy clothes, leggings and a t shirt, and decent trainers!

Is it good for toning up/weight loss LadyLeah? I was thinking leggings and t-shirt. Does it take a few sessions to get into it?

It's great fun but hard work! I did it before I fell pregnant with M and noticed a huge difference around my tummy, thighs and bum. Enjoy! You will get really sweaty though!

Thanks WS. I'm thinking it will be hard work because when I enter it in My Fitness Pal it says it burns 583 cals in an hour!!! It's my tummy that I really help with so fingers crossed!

It's pretty gentle exercise but a great laugh. I think the key is a good instructor that makes it feel like more of a party than a work out!

Thanks LR, will update tomorrow with how much I'm aching!

I have tried zumba deafinately all depends on the instructor as to how hard it is I find. T shirt and leggings/ gym trousers are fine and flexible shoes.
On the whole i found i looked like a fool but so did everyone else I found it less intimidating than traditional aerobics

I'm worried about looking like a prat Drifter but am hoping, like you say, that everyone will be in the same boat!

MossyE on the whole everyone is in the same boat Whenever I do any type of excercise class I look a fool but just stand in the middle (The back row is too risky as some instructors swap ends during a class and then the back row becomes the front). I am also pro at ignoring the one supegood person who appears to be even better than the instructor that way my inadequacies don't get the better of me.

Everyone looks a fool! There is always one super duper gym bunny in all the kit and always one that is totally out of synch - do not look at that person or you will lose your concentration!
It will take a good few sessions to get into until you you get to know all the routines. You can put in as much effort as you want.
I have to say i haven't noticed any weight loss ets but I'm a bit weird, I took up running fro a few years and didn't lose inches or weight or tone up! I think I'm just covered in too much fat ha ha!!

Well I really enjoyed it! Did feel very silly to begin with but the hall was packed with 1st timers so at least I wasn't on my own! Was sweating ALOT, it was very high energy, lots of fun and giggles, definitely going again. Thanks for your input ladies x

Thanks LL, exercise is so much easier when you're actually enjoying it!
