I am 32+2 Weeks Pregnant and having strong period type pains, lower back pain and sharp shooting pains into my bottom as if I need to empty my bowels. I went to the Maternity Hospital last Tuesday and when i was examined the Doctor he said that the Baby's head was very low, but my cervix was closed. I haven't had any Bleeding, but have had an increase in Discharge which is white and thick.
This is my 2nd Pregnancy and i went into labour 4 weeks early with my 1st Pregnancy.
Any ideas what these pains could be?

Ive been having similar pains and at my 31 week midwife appointment she said that the baby was very low, head down, and putting pressure on my pelvis and lower back and just a normal part of pregnancy. She said to call maternity assessment of pain gets progressively worse, or any bleeding, or if baby stops moving as much. But within a few days it had got much better. I would just keep an eye on it, and if you're worried it's best to call your hospital to check you out again. It won't do any harm and all the midwives I've ever come into contact with always say it's better to be safe then sorry. Theyd prefer you to turn up at lunchtime to get checked out rather than waiting till nighttime too. You know your own body so don't be afraid to make a fuss where our babies are concerned. Hopefully it'll get better for you though!!
