For anyone who has this same question they were not bothered at all that I had a cold and did the section anyway. I will say though it is really quite painful coughing after the section. Also they gave me a spinal block which didn't work another one that also didn't work so I ended up having an epidural which thankfully did work (i don't think the cold had anything to do with them not working!) If the epidural hadn't worked they were going to have to put me under which would have been a problem with a cold.

    Hi Holly

Thanks, actually I was wondering this myself as I have felt like I've got a cold coming. Trouble is they are not sure if an epidural will work full stop with me if I have to have a section because of my back op a few years ago. wonder what they would do if I had to have a section and had a cold in an emergency? :\?

    Hello Dawnie

Think they would do it as they almost had to do that with me.

Good luck and let us know how you get on
