Hello, wondered if anyone can help.
Im absolutely positive my baby has lowered, however not enough to affect my walking a great deal. I can def. breath more easily though. Im 36+1 and MW told me he hasnt??... but i think i know my body more than her.. (she's been pretty useless from the start if im honest)...
    What do you ladies think?...
What else would I feel?... Im sure im going to the loo more often too!?...

    Do you think he's dropped?
Is there a difference between dropping and engaging?...
    Thanks :\?

Sounds like it has to be honest. You should feel more pressure down below but less in your ribcage. Your bump should look different too. Like its all fell down a bit. For your first you could drop and engage weeks before birth so don't think its all imminent. You will need the loo more and may get aches in your pelvic region as it starts to soften and stretch for birth. Midwives only go by what they can feel and if she is as you say useless then go with your instinct. Usually for first time mums once head is engaged it does not come out again until birth (obviously). Hope that helped and not long now!!!!!!!!

dropping & engaging are the same thing.. it just means the head has gone into your pelvic region ready for birth... this can happen weeks before you give birth, you should feel the weight of baby's head more in your bowels too... Im 39 weeks with no. 2 and he's only just started to go further down...

sounds like your babies head has gone further down.. xxx

my belly has gone flabby at bottom (changed shape slightly)... and im getting little shock pains every now and then.... is this when he moves?....

Ive also had upset tummy and period pains on and off....

Some people say it feels like they will drop out.. but i dont feel that.???

when it's really low down it does feel like it will fall out, so it may just be half way down yet. the little shocks will be from the baby's head pressing on nerves in your hips. you'll just feel a heavy feeling in your bowels and between your legs. but then again you may not feel anything at all, as baby's head could drop the full way when you start contractions.. xxx
