    Hi all

well im 38+2 gone, and baby has been engaged for a good 2weeks or so now. since the weekend just gone things have started to feel a little different though, i'm feeling a lot more pressure on my bladder just since then, and also been having some shooting pains. The shooting pains arent too painful but definately give me a shock, and are usually around my pubic area. For a start does anybody else recognise these pains? I've noticed the tiniest bit of what i believe to be my show when i've been to the loo on the tissue.. but not enough to get too excited! Havnt had any problems throughout the pregnancy and babies moving around as usual. Could it be early signs of labour?

Also the past couple of nights i've found it impossible to sleep as i can't stop thinking about my baby and i'm so excited!

I think ive had these pains too. Like someone sticking a needle in tour lady bits? Thats what i get and it can give me quite a shock. I read on another post on here thats its your cervix softening! Im 35.1 weeks and had them for about 2 weeks now but more intense this last week!

Yeh that's the same feeling i've been getting. sometimes i think it could be baby bashing my bladder as it's hard to locate the pain exactly! i hope it means she's coming soon though! getting impatient!

    Hi LinzMc,

I've been getting these for a few weeks now. It feels like someone is sticking a knitting needle inside you. I'm now 37+4 weeks with my 2nd (I didnt have these pains with my 1st so it was quite a shock!) & when I asked the mw she said it was a combination of your cervix softening & the baby pressing down. I've noticed them getting stronger & more frequent over the past week so I'm hoping its a sign that something going on down there though I dont feel like labour is happening for a while yet
