Just wondering how people know how much their baby is going to weight before its born? does midwide work this out or do you have to get another scan done??

I had a midwife apptmnt day before my ds was born and i asked her if she could tell how big he was - she said late 7lb to early 8lb so a bit general i suppose.
He was born the next day - at 38weeks pg - and weighed 7lbs 10ozs so she was pretty spot on.
Obviously we didn't know he would be born the next day - but in answer to your question i think that your midwife will be able to give you a pretty good idea on weight.
    Hope this helps x

Think it is very hard for them to be exact, My midwife wasn't far off, at 38 weeks she told me that my baby would be between 7-8lb. He was born 2 days early at 6lb 9oz so not too bad an estimate. My friend on the other hand had been told her baby was well over 9lb at 38 weeks and her baby was born 7lb 14oz!!
