Hollie has just fallen off our bed for the first time. i knew it would happen at some poibt as she is so quick these days. I was tidying the room and took my eye off her for a second and she was straight on the floor.
She fell on her back but doesnt have a bump on her head or anything and seems ok now, do i need to get her checked over or keep an eye on her?

If you feel you need to then get her checked out but yes defo keep an eye on her,i no when kids bumped heads they used to say dont let them sleep incase of injury but noe they say et the sleep as it relaxes them preventing problems.
Hope hollies ok and you to,it must hae been a shock.

If she seems ok i would not worry to much, Jessica fell of the bed when she was about six months old and she was fine xx

She seems fine, initally she screamed the place down but she didnt take long to console. She has had her porridge and seems very chirpy. I was worried though as we have two mattresses on our bed so it is pretty high up for her to fall from.

Thanks though i feel better now she is ok xx

Hi Karen, Tate fell off the bed onto laminate flooring at the same age. I was mortified, but he was ok. Im so careful now with Luka but he fell back the other day from just a sitting position onto the bathroom floor and screamed the place down!! Im sure she's fine just keep an eye on her. Big hugs xxx

Hi Karen,
Seb fell out from his bouncy chair when he was around 4 months. He fell on his head so you can imagine. He screamed the place down but settled within 10 minutes, but we anyway took him to a&e because his eye was swollen, but he was ok. They said that if he would not feed ok or his routine would change we should bring him back so i dont think you need to worry. They also said that their bones are like rubber so its quite hard to break them.

Thanks girls. She has fed fine and has gone for a nap so i think she is ok. It was a really loud bang when she fell but she has no bump still. Although i have noticed a very small bruise on her arm.

Nicola, Hollie is always falling from a sitting position as she tries to reach things but hasn't figured out how to balance at the same time. She has never hurt herself doing that though, so it was more a shock i think when she fell.

I am going to get the travel cot down later and put it in the bedroom so i have a safe place to put her when we are upstairs.

I also had to set up the travel cot for seb i feel much better that he plays in there. it much safer

now she is sitting up we will try again with the travel cot. i put her in it when she was a lot smaller and she hated it. Now she is more content i can put toys in there and she should be ok. xx

Oh Karen - poor Hollie, I'm sure she'll be fine though and as the girls said just keep an eye on her fow now

Bet it made her jump though - poor bubs!

(((hug))) - it's such a horrible feeling isn't it - that second you hear the bump. Hazard of motherhood!

Jimmers and Kayley both had bumps too and I'm sure I will end up in casualty with Jimmers soon as he is always climbing and jumping of everything.

I'm sure you feel worse that she does!

Karen, Hope Hollie is ok. My son fell off the racking in my daughter's room when he was about 10 months old, he climbed to the 3rd shelf and then let go!!!! I guess it's all part and parcel of growing up. Know how upsetting it is though!

She is fine but it did shock her, she was crying into my shoulder for quite a while after it. I have put the travel cot up in our room, with a quilt in there and some toys and i am pleased to say she loved it. She sat in there playing for half an hour, looking at me through the mesh and giggling.

Karen, How is Hollie doing?? I bet she is fine, kids seem to bounce don't they? At the caravan with Zoe on Monday Bronwyn fell backwards and bashed her head on the metal stool base. She cried for about 20 seconds and then burst out giggling!!!! Typical!!

I have taken to wedging Bronwyn onto my bed using the duvet and the pillows. She would have to learn to climb to get over them!!! We have a very big and very high divan so I am always concerned about her rolling off.

Caroline, Hollie is absolutely fine thankyou. That metal stool base must have hurt her, kids seem to forget very easily that they have hurt themselves.

I don't put her on the bed now unless i am sitting on there with her. But she is absolutely loving being in the travel cot, so i suppose that is one good thing to come from it. xx
